We met when we were 13, and he didn't even speak to me. We reconnected at a District Convention. He irritated the hell out of me, he is a horrible tease. Then he and his mom moved to our hall. He called me one night, and my friend talked me into calling him back. We talked for 4 hours that night, and spent nearly everyday together after that. Were married 9 months after, at 18 and 19.
Love at first sight? No. Love at second sight? Yes. 17 years and 3 kids later, I still love him. And he still irritates the hell out of me with his teasing sometimes!

I met my wife at a get together of some pioneer friends. Love at first sight and been together for 30 years now - and things just get better, even though she is in and I am out!

WOW! You guys have some awesome stories. Have I met someone to fall in love with?...nope. VIRGO - I may know you, I'm a durban girl, born & bred, remember travelling on buses up to Pmb conventions, was only cant 8 then, remember vomiting when I got off the bus :-/

PEC --was my son best friend, we went on a date with my son and his girlfriend. I don't think it was love at first sight, we become Friends, we enjoyed being together. PEC ask me to Marry him. My first Marriage was real bad, I told PEC I was not ready for Marriage, 15 years later, I ask PEC would he marry me.
He said no he was not ready, he was joking. We had a Hawaiian wedding. We have been together for 26 years and we are very happy together. I love him more and more everyday.

I am loving these stories!

At fourteen I first saw my true love riding down the street in front of my house on a bike with a boy I knew. I made the boy introduce us and it was love at first sight. At sixteen we broke up, still loving one another but at sixteen we definitely weren't ready for a mature relationship. We remained friends, married other people.

I moved several states away, he and his wife and 2 kids came to visit and stayed, working for my father in law. After a number of years, his wife left him and my husband left me. We both ended up in our hometown, single. He was the first person I called when my marriage broke up, and he helped me through it.

I was determined not to fall in love with someone who had 2 kids, but of course we never stopped loving each other, so a couple of years later we were finally married. That was 23 years ago.

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses I always said that if I were worldly I would believe we were destined to be together. The laugh is on me!

At work. I didn't notice him as I was boyfriended, and he was just about to divorce. A couple of years later we became friends but I left the city partly because I didn't know how to tell him that I wasn't that into him. But we stayed in touch and he became the one person I respected and knew I could trust. Eventually I realised that I loved him too!

I met my husband at the KH. It has been 39 years of complete misery! So much for marrying "in the Lord".

He was the friend, of a friend, of a friend. He was in my city on business. He had been here several times but had never really saw any of the sites. So anyway I volunteered to play tour guide the next day. We found that we had a lot in common and had a lot to talk about. I took him to the major tourist traps and some local spots. We had this incredible dinner.....very romantic. He was staying at this 5 star hotel casino and I had never been up in the rooms. He asked me if I wanted to see what his room looked like. I swear I only went up with intention of seeing the view and the room amentites. It turned out to have a beautiful view but I ended up being distracted. So anyway we ended up hanging out the rest of his business trip. We kept in touch over the next 2 years and saw each other when we could. We were friends with a no strings attached type relationship. I ended up getting pregnant eventually so we decided for the sake of our son he would move to my city and would live together. We have had some major issues come up and even broke up once. We have been able to work it out with counseling and learning how to communicate with each other.

Halcyon, you've emboldened me to tell a little more than I had planned.
I fell head over heels in love with one of my professors. One day, I stopped by the faculty lounge to show him my new tattoo. Another professor was in the lounge with him and he joined in our conversation. A week or so later, the other professor asked me to a picnic. He was planning on leaving for a job in D.C. in six weeks and asked if I'd like to date him until he left. I said sure, as I wasn't used to dating, having been a JW. I thought it would be good practice.
Long story short, he didn't take the job in D.C. and we ended up dating for 3 1/2 years. I really, really liked him but it was never a love match. Just two people who really enjoyed each other's company and were great friends.
By the time the 3 1/2 years were over, the prof I was in love with (still) had taken a job out of state and left. During that 3 1/2 years, my "boyfriend" and I socialized with this prof often.
Fast Forward a couple years, I'm living in my apartment building and this really cute guy moves in. It was lust at first sight for me but he was very, very shy. He wanted to ask me out but couldn't bring himself to do it. He would actually hide in the doorway of his apartment if I went by because he was afraid to talk to me! One Christmas Eve, his car battery was dead and I offered him a ride. We've been together every day since then. We married seven years ago.
This past summer, I came into contact with the prof I had been so in love with (and still was, in some ways). I never told him that he was the man of my dreams, the love of my life. He didn't know I was married. He told me that he wanted to ask me out all those years ago but was waiting for the semester to end, as he couldn't date a current student. Unfortunately, the other prof asked me out beforehand and I got tangled up with him for 3 1/2 years! Even though the love of my life had taken a job in another state, he never married because he never got over me.
I can't tell you how bummed I was about this, still am a little bit. Although I truly love my husband, I've never stopped caring very deeply for that wonderful prof I fell for so many years ago. He was and is a wonderful man and I'm honored to know that he cares so much for me.
And if I had to choose between the two, I probably would have chosen the prof.
