I would love to live in California...my brother is there and he is my only sibling..I have three kids here but they are so busy with their own lives..I remember when I was so busy that I couldn't visit my parents as often as I wish..why do we always learn what's important too late

I think you should go where you and your hubby are appreciated!

And I will just sit here in Misery..(Missouri) and wish I was going with you...

    Snoozy..

Mrs. Jones, you do SO have a friend in WA state! But I can understand you wanting to go home. And house prices are getting nearer to normal there all the time-and if your hubby works from home-heck, why not? Good luck! OH, and most of WA never got hit with the ash. It mostly went to Oregon:) HEHEHE.

Come on home Mrs. Jones. Save that big check - you can buy a house for a reasonable amount - yes - even in the Bay Area these days.

I was born in San Francisco and raised on the peninsula in San Mateo county, East Palo Alto and San Carlos. Before we left we lived in Oakland and after we left my parents moved to Rocklin, a city just northeast of Sacramento. A lot of my father's extended family have moved to the Sacramento area. So we're seriously thinking about somewhere close to my parents but not right on top of them, maybe a town or so away.

Since we just thought of this I think it's too soon to tell the kids. My oldest will want to go back, but my daughter won't be too happy. So if this happens I got to think of ways to make the adjustment less painful for her, I have a few ideas.
