Ex-Elders & MS's Outweigh Current Ones

.....in amount, I believe. I think there are more former elders and servants than there are current. If you look in a Hall, it's not uncommon to see 5 ex elders just going to the meetings, doing whatever little they can do. I remember one man that was always approached by the elders and CO to "return to the ranks" but this (smart) guy would have nothing to do with it.

Did the former "Servants" in your Hall look like they really wanted to "be used" again?

There are only two former ministerial servants at our hall I can think of, no former elders. The former ministerial servants don't seem to want to be appointed again because of personal issues, not because they don't believe.

I think that you could be right, Min..I do not know enough of them well,in my wife's current congo, but I do know that there are a lot of the ones that I used to "serve" with who no longer do it. A lot of the ones that I used to respect as good men, the ones with a little intellect and compassion have been the ones to come off....Perhaps, like us, they had seen too much from the inside.

Slimboy Fat.."Not because they dont believe" , I do not think that it is a question of belief , otherwise they may be here with us. The chap I know locally was 'backstabbed' and removed for no real reason. He is still passionate in faith for "The Truth" but would not serve with the elders. He has seen it from the inside and knows what it is like , but still is sure that "Jehovah will sort it out, in time"

No. For some it was too much responsibility and others felt like it would be hypocritical for them to hold such positions due to their own vices.

I do think that most of the 'smart ones' left.

Most of the people in my HALL were tired of "being used" as PUPPETS and SALESMEN for the Publishing Cult in Crooklyn. The Elders that were still Elders looked like hollow shells...serving the many half heartedly and deserting their own families for the "privilege" of doing so.

Some are elders and servants because they NEED the recognition. Sad but true. They've got nothing else for their self esteem.

That's right, Minimus. It's all that they have in this world. They put they're whole lives into a religion that is nothing more than bullshit. They turn on the blinders when doubts start creeping in, and they end up old, miserable and alone in most cases. Sad but true. Usually they die alone too - dubs don't have time to visit sick people, don't you know, never mind the elderly that can't make it to meetings. I wish that everything that I just said was embellished, but it really isn't.

and I hope to see more exes than not. Maybe people will wise up to the sham.

Min, I beleive this to be true. I have seen one elder and two MS that want no part of it again. But, the others ring true to the quote above. I feel these are the ones that have to have recognition and a sense of superiority. It is the only thing they have of value to the rest. In the real world these would suffer emotionally.
