I lived through 1975. Believe me, it happened.

Sure people make mistakes, but the same one over-and-over again, dates like 1874/78? 1914, 1918, 1925, I guess there is more. While they, at the same time, are preaching to you about false prophets who predict false dates and then place a small footnote* at the bottom of the page that completely abdicates them of an culpability?

Freakin' Freddie may have been running the borg since @1920's or since the time his brown nose came risin' outta the water in what, 1914.

A definite, was Knorr kissing Fast Freddie's ass from the time he became Prez to the time of his untimely callin' to get his tiny little wings and startin-ta-learin-to-fly.

What is worse was Freddie was almost completely unintelligable. Listening to him talk was like riding a rollar coaster.

"AAAAAAAAnnnnnnnDDDDDDd whyyyyyYYYYYYYyyyyyyy did God choose the faithful and discrete slaAAAAAAAAaaaavvvvvvvVVVVVVVve?" -more like the discredited slave. He probably tried taking over heaven when he got there. The guy had all the advice on sex, but never even used his penis, well 'cept to piss with. -on our heads!

I know an Elder personally, who told me he sold his house before 1975 so he could preach down in good-ol' Kentucky USA. When the money ran out he came back. I find it hard to believe, but he says he has no resentments.

    Hey! lets be reasonable here,

    YoYoMama,
"Franz just got overly excited" -

Yes you got it in one . He did go off at a tangent and that is exactly what you can expect from a HUMAN interpretation , just human and prone to error . I could accept that if they did not claim to be something different . They have you believe that they really are "Spirit directed" and what they say has to be accepted without serious question or you are labelled apostate. Thats the crime of it.
Incidentally, Thewiz is right, he really did speak like that, mind you it seemed exciting at the time...

So, YoYo, pull out your bible and prove to me why I should follow, WITHOUT QUESTION, a group of imperfect (now scenile) old men from Brooklyn, just cause they say I should. I'm waiting ...

Prove to me from the bible why I should follow a group of men who declared that the end was coming in 1914/1925/1940/1975/2000? And were wrong everytime?

Uhhhh.....Thanks for answering my question so thoroughly YoYoMama.

Do you want to know why you didn't say more than one sentence? Because your answer would have been, "The Watchtower literature is an unbiased source or information." and we all know that's a bunch of bullshit. You and I both know that you have absolutely no logical answer for Farkel's question. You've been cornered and have no answer for it.

I'm not sure if it was in this thread or another, but you said that the Organization may have to answer to Jehovah for some of the mistakes it made. If the organization has a possibiltiy of being judged harshly from Jehovah, how could it be the mouthpiece of god? Obviously, it is just like every other religion that JWs profess NOT to be like. Your theories sink again, YoYoMama.

When I read literature published by WTS, I always compare and reason through the scriptures in the articles. I come to my own conclusions. Yes I read the literature, but I also read the Bible daily. I have made good use of other Bible Concordances in my research. These not being published by the WTS.

As for the jugdement of the organization. I believe some in the organization will be judged, not everyone. And yes it can still be its mouthpiece. Israelites were his people and were judged harshly. Of course, you knew I was going to say that.

Let me elaborate a bit more for you, YoYoMama. I believe that the bible is unbiased also. However, what about all of those wonderful Christians out there that live moral lives but don't interpret it the way you do?

Also, you wouldn't know where to research the bible besides Watchtower Publications. They spoon feed you all that they want you to know, because they are the "mouthpiece of god" which you are not to question. People here such as Joelbear looked deeply into things beside WT publications and began disagreeing with WTBTS.

    YoYo:

What if the Pope got a "little overly excited" and kept making incorrect prophecies? or the Dalai Lama? Or your local Baptist minister? Would you be so open-minded about that and insist that your JW cohorts be "unbiased" in their view of these poor misguided souls and the people whose lives they ruined?
