according to CNNMoney, so, will the elders receive some more new light from the Almighty saying that they are going to reinstate the weekly Book Study after their new light announcement this summer saying it was being done away with due to the price of gas ? ? ? ? ?

Well I guess there something good coming out of this economic down turn, the price of gas is going down to what it should be at.

Just as everyone expected there was no shortage of gas in the market, the price soared up via greedy gas companies.

The price here in Canada is still @ $ 3.60 gal. which is still pretty high in my opinion

This is good for the economy because everything in the market has some connection with the price of fuel attached to it.

Just under $2 for premium in L.A., not bad as last time I drove to Vegas some months back it was just over $5

I pointed this out to my wife. Her mother had said (in response to the Society's announcement that gas prices were a reason for eliminating a meeting) that gas prices would be $10 by January. My wife responded that she really thinks gas prices will go back up because the Society is good about anticipating events before they happen.

This led to a discussion about 1975 and the generation of 1914. She said that there have been more changes this past year in the organization than she's ever seen. I told her that is not one of the signs that Jesus said to look for in Matthew 24. I said the Bible tells us that no one knows the day or the hour of the end. She agreed that no one should speculate on when it will occur. I pointed out that it was the Society who had done the speculating. She had no rebuttal to that.

I ended the discussion on a pleasant note by commenting on how enjoyable our meal together was (we were eating out as we were talking). That way she could see that I was being completely positive in my approach and not dogmatic. I hope I am making some progress with her.

I filled up my car for $37.00 the other day. Six months ago it cost me over $70.00. However, we'd be foolish to think that the price of gas is going to stay this low. After after those bastards ripping us off like they did, I still plan on getting either a Smart Car or a hybrid for my next vehicle.

5 year low? Impress me...how about a 30 year low.....80 cents a gallon would be fine by me. Me and T Boone Pickens know that reducing oil demand is a big big deal... and the biggest factor is not your car, but the electric we consume

We need to build some wind farms and turn-key package nukes though... most of the oil and gas goes to electric generation...we get a handle on that we are way ahead. Compressed Natural gas needs a boost too... thats not the total answer but we have a big reserve of NG and adapting it to fleet transportation is a big deal in energy reliance.

I drive into little towns every place that have two things...Train tracks and train stations... but I never see a train and the stations are boarded up or flower shops.

If Obama wants to impress me he will dump AMTRACK and reward the train lines for going back into the passenger business... a train system and revamp of airline hubs and routes would create a grand efficiency in energy use. I'd never use 'mass transit' but if the train was good enough for Granpa it's good enough for me.

I had to run an errand this morning and in the next town north I saw gas for $1.52.

I wonder if that means the witlesses are going to waste it by spending more time and gas out in field circus.

Geez, if God really is directing the organization then he must have screwed up by canceling the bookstudy due to gas prices...Now if god can't figure out the price of gas I'm not even going to try.
