I have put these figures into a spreadsheet and had it calculate a trend. No doubt, the current figures and that of 2007 are clearly a break with the historic trend. More pioneers and aux pioneers, and even the reg publishers throwing in more hours.
I think they cooked the books based on the cooked reports many JW is putting in, as we know. How about having an external auditor doing this for a change and see where we land. :-)

Everybody looks at their home country...For Britain (They do not call us Great Britain ...probably right about that)
Av pub 126580....= 1% increase
2007 125808 ...but they baptised 2918 , and only show an increase of 772 . so 2146 of the increase (73%) was lost by drop outs....and they still don't do any shepherding !
BTW the number of dubs per population as 1 in 445 . In 1998 it was 1 in every 436 of the Brittish population . So they are going backwards !

Australian figures. 2008 average publishers = 62,159. Compared to 62,022 the previous year. And this is with 1,368 baptisms.

I would cancel all field service for Elders in January and get them out shepherding. That would help them

The Japanese figures are quite interesting. I can remember that Japan seemed to be viewed as the standard bearer for the rest of Jehovah's Witnesses. When I was young, I remember traveling overseers highlighting the activity of the Japanese brothers; particularly when it came to pioneer figures. There seemed to be a view that the American friends were spiritually lazy when compared to the Japanese friends. How often did we hear traveling overseers say: "We need to be more like the Japanese friends".
Well, maybe the Watchtower leadership will get it's wish. Maybe the U.S. and European friends will follow the example of the Japanese and start to decrease as well. Wouldn't that just warm the Governing Body's hearts?
