    Absolutely....

I was born in it, believed 100% all of it, and sometimes I get really mad at myself for not seeing the truth about, "The Truth" many years ago.

The good thing is, when I saw the truth, I was 100% GONE and done with it. And,.......It's sites like this that confirm it every day..... Gymbob

When I was younger I did - I accepted everything, believed everything and was a zealous publisher, enjoyed giving talks and KNEW we had the truth - no doubt.

Then.... I started doing research on my own when I was about 17and a couple of things started to stick out that didn't make sense, but still felt we had the most truth and that new scrolls would be opened.

It would be another 10 years when that questioning would reach a climax and all the doctrine I once believed in shattered.

Did you at any time-- totally-- accept everything being taught to you by the Witnesses?

They had all the answers to all the questions I never asked, and some that I did ask.
    Supposedly, God was guiding them.
From my time as a "study" until the time of the 1995 study article that changed the
doctrine on "this generation," I accepted it all. When that article was "no big deal"
to the older JW's, I saw that they could be wrong. They were either wrong before
that change or wrong afterward. I learned to start questioning things.

OTWO, a lot left after that generation change.

Being born in is a totally different level of brainwashing. Yes, I was a believer with little flashes of reality through childhood. It wasn't until I saw the same old cycles of hypocrisy, nepotism and hierarchy that I began to question everything. I really didn't see all the doctrinal inaccuracies until I came here. Now I know.

My problem was the more I listened to them the less I believed in the Bible!

Then I quit believing in them..( Never did believe God would destroy the world..Man maybe..but not God. Never could believe in Paradise...)

Now it's hard to believe in any religion.....

What do I do now? I still pray..just in case...

    Snoozy...

Yes. I was born-in and my parents taught me that this was "the truth". I know I 100% believed when I was 10. I know that I 100% did NOT believe by the time I was 15. I'm not sure exactly what happened in those 5 years. A lot of things. But mainly I just got older and wiser and smarter. I became more aware of other religions and other people and I saw more and more crueilty and abuse and control tactics within the JWs. The other kids were all hypocrites. There was no love or concern for other people within the congregation. There was more and more talk of Armageddon happpening in September of 1975. People were going nuts. It was stifling and suffocationg and killing my soul.
