*** w58 11/15 pp. 691-692 par. 22 Signs and Wonders in the Time of the End ***Jehovah God did so. In 1918 he stopped the great tribulation that had begun upon the enemy organization of Satan the Devil. Along with it World War I ended on November 11 of that year. His time for Armageddon, "the war of the great day of God the Almighty," was still future. In this way he cut short the days of that tribulation upon Satan’s organization invisible and visible. Then in the spring of 1919 he brought to his "young children," to the remnant of those whom Jesus Christ confesses as his brothers, release from their captivity to modern Babylon.
*** w70 1/15 p. 52 par. 9 Peace with God amid the "Great Tribulation" ***On account of his "chosen ones" he cuts short the days. How? Back in the year 1925 the suggestion was set out in the leading article of the WatchTower issue of May 1, entitled "For the Elect’s Sake," that "those days" of the "great tribulation" were cut short in the middle. The explanation was given that the "great tribulation" had begun in 1914 C.E. and that it was not allowed to run its full course then but God stopped World War I in November of 1918. From then on God was allowing an interval for the activity of his anointed remnant of elect Christians before he let the final part of the "great tribulation" resume at the battle of Armageddon and come to its termination. This would allow for sheeplike persons to be saved.—Matt. 25:31-46.

I am bothered by the lack of precision in the question.

How much is "a glass"? Eight ounces, twelve ounces, a British pint, a liter...?

How much is a "drop"? How concentrated is the poison?

Every day we ingest small amounts (less-than-lethal quantities) of a variety of "poisons." Some are drugs that keep us alive by keeping more vicious threats at bay. Some are environmental, like chelated mercury. Just today the actor Jeremy Piven was said to have incurred mercury poisoning by eating sushi TOO FREQUENTLY (twice a day, they say, for a long long time). Yet when I enjoy sushi, I am more concerned about the parasites it might contain than the prospect of becoming a human thermometer.

But all this is a digression. The point is that TURN-ABOUT IS FAIR PLAY, and it is easy to show that the WATCHTOWER "cup" has more than one "drop of poison" in it.

I too, am interested in poisons, by the way.

Hey have you ever seen the drop of poison in the so called sacred name " JeHOVAH "? If you look up #1943 in the Strong's exhaustive concordance in the Hebrew section you'll see "hovah" which means " MISCHIEF ". DV

Wouldn't alcohol qualify as "poison"? In which case, I'm enjoying a 15% poison beverage!... the other 85% is egg nog.

Most of us do drink water with one "drop" of poison in it. The fluoride that is in the water is poison. And so is the chlorine they put in it. And, in large enough quantities, any mineral could become poison (even calcium, magmesium, sodium, and potassium--all are necessary in usual quantities, but I would be willing to bet that you could die from eating several pounds of them.

Not to mention that the Washtowel Slaveholdery puts out poison with a drop of water in it. Which is not much more sensible than water with a drop of poison.

Seeing as that my mom did not get baptized until several years after this, helps me understand that a number of JWs do not really know the origins of their religion. I never read or heard of this before. So basically, the great tribulation has already started but is on hold? So when they talk about the great tribulation now, are they talking about the continuation of what was put on hold years ago or did that turn out not to be the great tribulation at all meaning that it will be a whole new event?

If confusion is poison, then these folks are really dishing it out.

A man goes to the doctor and complains that he is shrinking. The doctor looks at him and says, "well, I guess you'll have to be a little patient".

As pointed out above, we drink water with poison in it all the time. Is the WTBS coming out against Flouride and Chlorine?

PS: your cake has $hit in it, too. It is impossible to remove all the insect crap (and insect parts) from most foods, particularly things like flour.
