Interesting story mate, but whats a "coon's age?" A southern U.S. expression that means a long time. A "coon" is a raccoon, an animal here in the U.S.

Jim, glad you shared it. That's the healthy thing to do with stuff like this. Sometimes we think we are dealing a-ok with things in life when we make big changes in our lives, but, it only takes this type of thing to show that our subconscious is alive and well and holding on to memories............

    Hey Terri how ya doin?

"Sometimes we think we are dealing a-ok with things in life when we make big changes in our lives, but,..."

Well... the good news is... I'm not going to need a psychiatrist... I'm okay... it's just the sort of memory that gets triggered - when you think you had long forgotten things.

Sorta like walking into a Grade School, and the smells and sounds trigger memories from way back when I was back in grade school. (Which was a looooong time ago). It's not a bad memory necessarily... just a memory.

Thanks for all the replies. I think that's the most I've ever gotten on a thread I started.

    Regards,

    Jim TX

Jim said...."I think that's the most posts I've ever had in a thread I started".....Okay, let's see if we can keep this thread going until we can at least give Jim a "second page".....How about it, people?....Let's do it for good ole Jim, here, before the forum shuts down....Hubert

    Jim:

I completely and totally understand. That's what's so great about this board. Virtually everybody can relate to what you're saying. I've never had anyone I could talk to that understands the trauma until I found this board.

    Glad you posted, Jim.

Well, this is a little off subject, Jim, because I was never a jw, but I can relate to past experience flashbacks.....Two days ago, I visited my best friend's Mom....she's 88 years old. She will be moving out of her house and into assisted living soon, and she mentioned how the years went by so fast......Then she said "I look out this window and I can still see you kids playing in the yard".....I almost cried.....I have so many memories of those times around her and her family, with my best friend. ..... She was like a second mother to me........Hubert
