Newborn, I have heard my parents say this about DF or ones that don,t associate anymore, that they are better off dead. I am sure they feel that way about me now too.
Musky, there is an air of coolness about my parent and in laws. It must have to do with the JW thing. I think it's because their love is contingent on you being a witness and if not they move on. We just say how happy we are that hopefully our relationship will be different as our children get older.

I have parents that very seldom come to visit my family. They are both witnesses. I was born in the watchtower, and found out it was not the truth maybe 20 years ago. I thought that the reason they were somewhat cold was my not believing anymore. I now believe it is a personality thing. I think they may come up with excuses why they don't come to visit or call that often. Whether its the watchtower rules or the weather or whatever. I think some people find excuses to ultimately convey there true feelings. I don't intend my comment to mean that this is typically the case with everyone though. Just my personal experience.
I think you're right. I think my family is/would be the same too. They just aren't people persons. It doesn't bother me as much anymore as it used too. It is what it is.

If most jws truly felt that way, then a handgun would rest next to the bible in their bookbag.........and they would send "householders" to a better place, eh?
