Instead of reading the LWJDIM............ we read :

I only experienced a tinge of guilt as we discussed witches, wizards and the East Witches silver shoes........

The Wizard of Oz is a great book and a great movie. My two daughters have always loved it and they both dressed up as Dorothy one time each for Halloween. No guilt here. I purged myself of all that hogwash many years ago.

I have not heard of the "free night" Did they stop the book study?

dogon, they have combined it with the school and service meeting and now call it the "bible" study and everyone meets at the KH. They don't study as many paragraphs and the other 2 meetings have been adjusted to cover the same amount of time the school and service meeting did.

An unintended result of this will be that many JWs will become more active in their communities.

Tuesday night is the night that community meetings are held. PTA, City Council, etc...

I have long suspected that one of the reasons for holding the meeting on Tuesday was to reduce the community interaction of JWs thereby keeping them just that bit more socially isolated.
