Yep sad news Caedes. I remember him more for Danger Man which I loved as a kid. I also liked his role in Braveheart as Edward 1st - playing what I thought to be a great representation of the menacing Plantagenet
The Prisoner is scheduled to air as a miniseries this year.
He was also in Disney's The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh...
Danger Man was known as Secret Agent in the US
I remember him in Ice Station Zebra with Rock Hudson too...
His acting in Braveheart was superb..
He was a great actor...
I heard a rumour that a remake of the prisoner was on the cards.
I think he lent an air of respectibility to everything I saw him in.
He was also in one of the best episodes of Columbo.
BTW, I visited the town of Portmeirion in Wales where the Prisoner was filmed. The town is almost as bizarre as the show.
Then we went and had lunch in Porthmadog. I know it's pronounced Port Maddoc, but I loved talking about porthing my dog to the locals.
The Prisoner is free. He was always Number 1 to me.
A sad loss indeed. Loved The Prisoner.
I've been to Portmeirion too. Glorious scenery. Expensive pottery.
Sad indeed. He was more than an actor and made a valuable contribution to society.
