The Christian, particularly, knows that even a million landings on Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn or any of the planets and their moons will fail to reveal evolution of life.

Notice how clever they are - they left themselves an out.

Assuming this is announced, they can say that it is evidence, not of evolution of life, but instead evidence that Jehovah created life on other planets.

"Of course the Genesis account only mentions God's works on earth - there is nothing written there that prohibits the creation of non-intelligent life elsewhere in our vast universe. What a wonderful God we worship! [insert tenuously appropriate scriptural reference here]. Of course, only on the planet earth do we find mankind, the only beings in the universe created 'in God's image', the only ones able to praise his name, yadda yadda yadda..."

As has been stated on this forum & elsewhere, they have cunning to burn. It's a religion run by lawyers - don't worry, they'll find a way to wriggle out of any seeming refutation of their doctrine.

    Yeah, you are right...

But I think I JUST read something on this I the FEB 2009 awake, and it was even more dogmatic.

i hope so, finally, that they got it right, with solid proof. the words of my believing father, "why would god create life on other planets?", in other words, cognitive dissonance was well at work i hope.

Why would God create so many planets and not create life on them?
