i'll try to find it. it was a semi-recent experience in a study article. the co told me the reason most apostates dont get reinstated is due to pride. lol. just a quote, not my opinion.

The only way an apostate would get reinstated would be by lying, (like I did although I was not RI'ed I appealed successfully my JC) because they may not have been ready for the shock of suddenly being shunned, or as in my case I had a family wedding approaching and the loss of face the 2 wedding parties would have faced would have became too much for some to bear(I was DA'ed shortly after though)
