This punishment did seem a bit harsh to me. I can't believe I'm going to say this but I agree with what Bush did here. They did shoot a man who was running away so I don't think they should be pardoned, commuting seems about right.

I was thinking that at least Bush acted with class and flew away on a helicopter after the inauguration. I was afraid he might be wearing cowboy boots and ride out on a horse shooting guns in the air yelling, "woo EEE !!! Texas here I come." Rub a Dub
Shooting an uarmed man who's running away from you is a shaky thing to support at best. Add in the fact that the two agents attempted to cover up what happened, indicating a tacit acknowledgement that they were in the wrong, is impossible to support for anyone who believes in freedom and has a clear conscience.
