Thank you everyone for indulging me. I rarely get the creative bug to hit me anymore (the JW's squelched that a long time ago!) so when it does hit me I try to run with it. Maybe later I'll post some pictures of the luncheon. I know there were many taken, but I don't know if any of them show the tights.

Andi,
Thank you for sharing a beautiful story, that was written so well. Even Larc, the crusty old curmudgeon, got a little misty eyed.
I think you should send your story to Reader's Digest. I think the whole country should have the chance to read this.

Billygoat,
I went through a Reader's Digest phase of my life, about 25yr ago I actually subscribed to it.
I havn't read a copy in as many years, but they used to pay out money to people who submitted articles like yours. I think yours is as good or better than any I ever read there. Send it along to Reader's Digest if choose, you may have a little unexpected Christmas bonus.
You really did a good job on this true story.
DannySniffing....just misty eye'd.

Reader's Digest? Is that meant as a compliment? I've always considered Reader's Digest as good bathroom material. ((((()))))

Lovely story, Andi. Thank you so much. If you don't like the idea of Reader's Digest, consider Ladies Home Journal. I believe they also print sweet stories like this. You're a dear (deer?). Happy holidays to you and Neil.

Andi,
Great story. Of course you had this old softie sobbing.
Readers Digest is a compliment. They print some great stuff, bathroom or not. I usually buy a Readers Digest when I have to fly, because the stories keep my interest and calm me down some.
Danny doesn't seem like a curmudgeon to me.

I know Danny's not a curmudgeon. Larc was the self-proclaimed curmudgeon, although I question that too!

Joel and Andi,
You got me thinking about why I no longer read the Reader's Digest, I like you Joel really enjoyed it.
I realized that I have almost abandoned all aspects of my former life as a Jw. Funny I kind of viewed the Reader's Digest as an extention of the Awake mag....damn if I didn't. I remember the subconscieous thought that it was OK to read it, because of being accepted by sort of by the Borg. Crazy eh? But I ditched it along with alot of other crazy notions....throwing the baby out with the bathwater...
Good god they messed with our minds!
Sometimes on this board I know I must appear like an old curmudgeon, to some. But thanks for your remarks.
I take back my smiley face with tounge.
