"But there are always new ones coming in"

This evil, the "dehumanizing", has been around for decades, and I really wish I knew how/when it originated (if I had to guess, I would say Rutherford/Freddie Franz started this). I believe the real evil is as Ray stated: it's this "concept of the organization", that everything revolves around "the organization". I can remember growing up that that's mostly what I ever heard from my parents ("The Society said this" and "The Society doesn't approve of this"). It seemed so strange to me, but I had to accept it or face discipline growing up.

Look at this quote from 1950:

"Jehovah's visible organization can use you, but can get along without you too. But you cannot get along without it. Fruitless ones are eventually pruned off and never missed as new ones are grafted in." 1/15/50 WT, pg 26

When Karl [brain-dead from birth] Klein stated what he did, he did so because of the indoctrination that stemmed from the publications and was just "parroting" what he had been hypnotized to say.

It's this attitude that has destroyed countless families and relationships, and all because "the end is near" and "one shouldn't focus on this life, let's wait until the Paradise gets here to really enjoy life". All because one man said "Christ's presence did indeed start in 1874... invisibly!"

Good point Farkel and a important one, the organization always had strategic strategy to cull people toward them

and then utilizing them as subjective employees. This strategy of theirs might be considered immoral, unjust and quite unscrupulous

but nevertheless what organization like this doesn't run on their own self serving and devised rules ?

Why do they do this is a simple answer its a formula that acts as a supportive base , it keeps the people who have the power to maintain

that power, also to financially support the organization. Quite simply if there wasn't a revolving door in place of new comers

coming in as the acknowledged ones that leave, this organization would probably have collapsed years ago.

In reality most religious organizations that are similar as the JWS operate with a certain level of corruption to maintain itself,

    its in the operational manual.

    homer,

:This strategy of theirs might be considered immoral, unjust and quite unscrupulous but nevertheless what organization like this doesn't run on their own self serving and devised rules ?

True, but there is still a big difference. Greedy corporations that one works for, takes your energy, saps your strength and often discards you like old dish rags. But before that happens, they have PAID you money for your services, money which allowed you survive and take care of your family.

The greedy Watchtower Corporation that one works for, also takes your energy, saps your strength and often discards you like old dish rags. But before that happens, they have TAKEN your money away from you, too. For all they have taken, all they have offered were empty promises, lies, abuse, deception and misery.

    civics,

:Fruitless ones are eventually pruned off and never missed as new ones are grafted in." 1/15/50 WT, pg 26

Looking at real human beings like that is very, very scary. When living matter is grafted, the host absorbs and takes control over the thing being grafted. The sheer audacity of Fred Franz publicly admitting to such a thing in the Watchtower Rag is the very thing this thread was all about.

No, I think it is much worse than that. I think that GB member made that evil statement without even thinking or even being capable of KNOWING how evil that statement was. He made that statement without even a thought as to the consequences of what it meant, as if he was too naïve to understand what he was really saying. To me, that kind of evil is more dangerous than any overt evil one must confront.

Is not that true of many things that the Wt says, and things that individual Witnesses say. They giggle over the slaughter of millions of people. They rationalise over the "necessary" culling of the innocent babes at Armageddon, saying that they would grow up to be rebels. They greedily look at properties and say "It will be mine after Armageddon". They callously speculate about picking the carcasses of the slain...

To the first time hearer they would seem like the worst of people, but individually they are very kind hearted souls. So what is it? They seem to have a mental block when it comes to suffering of others at this time...It is a concern that kept coming back to my mind every so often when I was a dub. I suppressed it because you think that "They know best" but eventually I was jolted into reality and I knew that my gut instinct was right. It IS wrong thinking.

That same attitude must infect the G B who are cloistered in Brooklyn. Farkel's point is right . Just like a business, they can afford to lose few customers if it is expedient to them

Okay, I'm quoting myself... Baba said: "...not a caring religious leader"

I just realized what an oxymoron that is!

Sounds daft, but I have indeed known a couple.

When I was disfellowshipped and my daughters chose to come with me after the divorce it wasn't long before my ex-husband remarried. That tired scripture that "God will replace what you lose" or words to that effect fiit in well. He married a woman with two daughters who were just a bit younger than our children. For his faithfulness God replaced what was lost.

People are expendable. Wives. Children. Slaves. All can be replaced.

I was listening to the video I did about how cults control people. The last Mind Control Technique I referred to was:

Dispensing of ExistenceAccording to totalistic groups they have the right to decide who belongs and who doesn’t. Those who belong will be saved or honored; those that don’t are condemned.

This is applied to those who leave or who are no longer useful. There will always be others to take their place.

The internet is making inroards at informing people of the dangers of cults and JWD/N does a great job of letting the world know about of the dangers of the WTS/JWs.

It's the same kind of evil that existed in Nazi Germany. Jews and other "undesirables" were dehumanized, so it became easy for their captors to exterminate them. I've head it said that the true evil in Nazi Germany was not the hate they had toward their captives, but the everyday banality of their crimes. Executioners would joke, eat lunch, and get bored while shooting victims in the head and dumping them into mass graves. Just another workday.

As you said, true evil lies in the fact that tyrants everywhere brutalize others "without even thinking or even being capable of KNOWING how evil" their actions are. It's frightening, and it can be found everywhere, from individual families to entire nations.

He held a meeting during his stay, with all the elders - except me, and without my knowledge - where he proposed and they all decided to remove me. I appealed, was reinstated (or technically, the removal was undone) and the actions of the others was critized by the WT. When I told him what I thought about this at the next conv., his reply was "So what? I do this all the time, and sometimes the WT agree, sometimes they don't. That doesn't matter, that's life."

The point is, it DOES matter, to the mental state of the person in question. It made me literally sick and unbalanced for a long time, it totally ruined the possibility of any meaningful cooperation with the others because I knew they had agreed upon it would be in everyone's best to get rid of me, and so I resigned a couple of years later.

But then, others are different. It so often boils down to personality, and that baffles me. In one cong., they do it like this, in another, like that. Sometimes the WT intervenes, sometimes not. It is rather unpredictable, really.
