The WTS helped Marley Cole initially vanity publish his "Faith on the March" personal history of the JWs.

I found that out when my then-wife, many decades ago, sent for some self-publishing info for me, and there in their advertising lit was info on Cole's book, which with the WTS's help, they noted, became one of their biggest sellers.

Self-publishing today is becoming a much more acceptable means of getting your work out, made easier through computers, the Net, and print on demand.

An elder in my cong published via a vanity press when I still attended meetings. In fact, it was a historical novel based on certain biblical stories -- completely faithful to Watchtower chronology and theology, but giving his own *gasp* interpretation of the stories. He always was quite enthusiastic about his story and I'm glad he was able to fulfill his hopes at least in getting it printed in book form -- albeit via a vanity press. I am sure he must still have a box of the books in his house.

Could you share the name of that book with the Bible stories with a personal JW slant Leolaia? I have a collection of JW self-published books on all sorts of subjects. I would be interested in having a look at that book if I can get a hold of it.

Many of the books included in Stan Milosevic's online library are self-published by Witnesses.

I just noticed a new entry on that page for a book published in 2008 called "The Travel Machine" described as: "A story that takes place in the New System."

I wonder if that is up to much.

Charles Taze Russell could be said to have "vanity published" his books.

After all, he did self publish all of them.

The most vanity I ever saw published was WT self congratulatory publications.
