Well, I'll probably have to use some time off to get paid, but yup, I'm snowed in. At least until the snow plow comes by and I shovel my truck out. I wonder what an apostate can accomplish on a day at home? Any ideas?

If I were home today, I would get some extra housecleaning done. And make a big dinner for my family.

Yah, My four kids and I have a snow day. Woke up at 7am, my oldest son was downstairs "Snow day Mom and I can't get back to sleep." "Well", I said, "if you didn't have all the lights on and the tv blaring maybe you could go back to sleep. But since you can't you can put away the dishes that you forgot last night."

The Grandmunchkins are off school today too, here.
We have had a lot of winter this year - but last nite we only got about 2 or 3 inches of snow. Still, I am sick to death of winter and being cooped up. On the days I am not cooped up, I am working for 13 hours out in this garbage.

We got a foot here. Haven't had that much in one night for a few years now. Last winter we got quite a bit during the season but this year looked like it was going to be a bust, we didn't even get to have a white Christmas. Since hubby can't get out there that shovel it three of my kids are.

Yep, we're buried here in Northeast Ohio.
There are warnings out for only emergency vehicles to be out.
I moved here from South Florida in 1999 and I've adapted pretty well but I have come to the conclusion that human beings should not live in latitudes above 30 degrees.
In Florida you get up in the morning, throw on a pair of shorts and a tee shirt and you're out the door. Here it is a damn production to just get out the front door....layers and more layers and boots and a hat and gloves....I look like the frikken' Michelin Tire Man by the time I'm dressed.
It's killing my self image.

My husband attends classes at Miami University here in Ohio and he also works for Miami University. There is a branch campus in Hamilton where he takes classes but he works in Oxford. There is a shuttle that runs between the two campuses. On Monday at 4 p.m., he left to go to school. He parked our van in the parking lot at Miami Hamilton and took the shuttle up to Oxford after his classes were complete. He works third shift. When he got off work on Tuesday morning, the snow and ice was so bad that they had to shut down the Hamilton branch campus so the shuttle wasn't running! He had to get a hotel room in Oxford. He worked last night and, once again, the weather is nasty so the branch campus is closed He's sleeping soundly in his hotel room~again. I hope he gets home tomorrow. The kids are starting to annoy me.
My van (our only vehicle) is stuck in the parking lot at Miami Hamilton; my husband is stuck in a hotel in Oxford; and I'm trapped enjoying being home with the children, the dog, and the cat.
I really don't need anything and wouldn't go out in this weather anyway, but it's the fact that I don't have a choice about it that's getting to me!
We had about 8 inches of snow yesterday, covered with about 2 inches of ice last night, covered with another 5 inches of snow today. The ice came down so hard that it woke me up beating against the windows.
I'm out of bread, gotta go bake bread, but right now I'm very glad that I grocery shop once a month! I've still got five gallons of milk in the freezer and we're sitting pretty. We've got at least a week's worth of groceries left. I need to do my monthly shopping this weekend.
On the technology side, on our local news channel, they have all of these robotic cameras set up to monitor road conditions. We've been watching auto accidents happening real time in Cincinnati. It's hard to imagine you can "rubberneck" from home these days.
Stay warm and safe everybody!

My kids have a snow day and my boss told me not to come in today because of the roads. My husband didn't have anything pressing, so we all stayed home. Slept in, drank a couple cups of coffee, catching up on housework that I won't have to do over the weekend. Actually thinking about getting my tax stuff together too, ugh.

Just got the news. Husband won't be home until tomorrow because we're on a Level 3 Snow Emergency, meaning if you're caught out you'll be cited.
I miss him. I guess that means it's true love!
