By the title of the thread, I did not mean to categorize ex-Dubs as only residing at one end of the philosophical spectrum or the other. Of course, there are middle-of-the-roaders.
I am just fascinated at the what causes ex-Dubs to settle into the mindset that they do. I am curious about how everyone got to where they are now.

Having been a member of a controlling cult for the first 32 years of my life, I realize that the best system for people to live in is the one that coerces and forces the least. I believe in the best ideas that both the political left and right espouse. Social and economic liberality. This is neither Liberal nor Conservative according to the common modern usage of the terms. I am a Libertarian.

That's true. I think it depends on when and why one joins the dubs. In my very limited observation, those who were born in or brought in as children tend to become atheists when they leave. Adults who convert to dubism and then leave tend to become fundies. Maybe it's because the adults who leave still have an emotional need that was not fulfilled by the dubs. So they look for other extreme religions to take its place.
Kids, on the other hand, have the WT, Jehovah, the endless rules, boring meetings, and excruciation field service stuffed down their gullets for years. When they leave, they want nothing more to do with the dubs or anything resembling a Christian religion.
To stay on topic, however, I tend to be liberal on most issues, but fiscally, I'm conservative. (I know, it sounds contradictory, but it works for me.)
