Very interesting to hear this view from this old-timer brother. Did not know this was touched on in one of Rutherfords books ("Jehovah"?). Can you please produce the quote from the book?
John Denton has written a lot about covenantology on his website www.tangotango.org.uk He states the Abrahamic Covenant ended with Jesus' death and the "Covenant for a Kingdom" is for the same length of time (2000 years or so) as the Abrahamic Covenant, ending about 2033. This is rather interesting too because the WTS fairly recently discussed the 120 year period for the last days of Noah's system in the context of the "last days" of our system from 1914 (pointing to 2034), without explicitly saying there is a direct parallel. But if the WTS was to ever pick a date again for the end of the world, 2034 would be it.
Denton, however, goes on to say that the real end date is about 37.5 years AFTER 2033, in 2070! See below:
