"magic word"
I asked a 5 yr old what the magic word was, when he asked me for a lifesaver. ( I was trying to get him to say please)
He asked his mother and she told him we don't believe in magic. Apparantly they didn't believe in being polite either.

Cheers! (It still boggles my mind that there are no champagne toasts... to clink a glass and say "cheers" is verboten.)

X
When I went to Gilead School, the students assigned to mark test papers were instructed not to mark wrong anwswers with an X.
It is the sign of the cross, you dummy.
Correct anwsers were marked with "ticks" and wrong ones were marked with "zeros"
In the new world I wonder how they will mark railroad cattle crossings.
belbab.

I can remember the words "Gosh", "Gee", and "Golly" explicitly banned in the Theocraptic Misery School handbook, though enforcement is variable. I have heard the word "crap", but rarely--the humanoid that dragged me into the cancer thought of it as a very bad word. Damn is another word that is "bad"--and I have heard of people getting hounded and chewed out for saying "Darn".

"Good Luck" - unless you are a spanish-speaking person speaking English. They say good luck ALL the time.
"Darn" - To close to the real thing. Considered a substitute for usings profanity. Too close to the world.
"Shoot" - Same as above
"Doggon' it" or "Dang it - Same as above
"Friggin" or "What the Freak" or "What the heck" - Same as above.
"Screwed" - My sister said this word in her comment and got railed on by the elders like you would not believe.
"God Bless" - I never understood why. Don't we want God to bless people.
"Godspeed" - Depends on the congregation
"Holy" in front of anything except "spirit" or "bible"
I will say that this is mainly regional. There are areas in the U.S. were "damn" and "hell" are not considered profanity as long as they are not used in theocratic settings. And you every go preach in another country that doesn't speak english, you can pretty much say whatever you want.
