  I wonder why the WT very seldom uses these Scriptures.

  From The Message Bible:

  Does the above seem to be speaking to an organization or to individuals?

  Should we fear the Evil One?

  Is the WT a clever facsimile of Jesus?

  The picture raised a few comments - a couple of young JW sisters being seduced in a cocktail bar by two sleazy predator males. The consensus seemed to be that the men would be slipping something into the drinks.

  Yet again the WTS can be knocked down by simple common sense.

  I’m not sure I agree with you about the elders,

  When do they (elders reach perfection 100years etc.

  I THOUGHT THEY WERE PERFECT NOW.

  What entertainment does not have violence…………………….even Tom and Jerry have their fare share.

  The WTS go on about Jesus being tempted in the wilderness,

  But according to WTS this was when all previous heavenly life was opened up to him………………………..he would have been on a spiritual high surely, but he still had angels minister to him

  How many of us imperfect ones got direct help from angels when we had a dispute with brothers

  4. As an organization enjoying the support of Jehovah God, we successfully oppose the Devil. Consider these facts: In the past 100 years some of the most ferocious dictatorships in history have tried to stamp Jehovah's Witnesses out of existence. But the number of Witnesses continues to grow and has now reached nearly 7,000,000 in over 100,000 congregations throughout the world. The cruel dictatorships that persecuted Jehovah's people are the ones that have been stamped out of existence!

  This paragraph demonstrates the minimal amount of brain power used to produce such tripe. They claim that as an Organization, they "successfully oppose the Devil" and are making an obvious reference to the persecution during the Holocaust. After patting themselves on the back, they claim that "...the cruel dictatorships that persecuted Jehovah's people are the ones that have been stamped out of existence!" as though it was the WTS itself that somehow got rid of Hitler and his henchmen.

  Why did they not acknowledge that without the Allies----who risked their lives----that Jehovah's Witnesses today would not even exist. They would have all been executed long ago had the Third Reich not been stopped by the very people the Society loves to bash. It's ridiculous paragraphs like this that I have always found irritating to the extreme. Not once in any of their literature have the Witnesses ever acknowledged the sacrifice that so many made so that they---a religion with no gratitude whatsoever---could survive.

  And naturally there's no mention of the 6 million Jews who parished, nor the gypsies, homosexuals or the mentally challenged who were all murdered under the same regime. Nooooo, WWII was solely abot Satan trying to 'stamp out' the Witnesses.

  What jumped out at me was early on:

  Notice how often the WTS uses brackets [ ] to "explain" the meaning of a scripture.

  Paragraph 1: "I shall put enmity between you and the woman [the heavenly part of Jehovah's organization] and between your seed and her seed. He [Jesus Christ] will bruise you in the head and you will bruise him in the heel." (Gen. 3:14, 15; Rev. 12:9)
  
  Paragraph 6: the prophet Daniel foretold: "In the days of those kings [existing in our day] the God of heaven will set up a kingdom [in heaven] that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms [now existing], and it itself will stand to times indefinite." (Dan. 2:44)
  
  Paragraph 7: "Salvation we owe to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb [Jesus Christ]." (Rev. 7:9-14)
  
  Paragraph 16: "If you, although being [imperfect and thus comparatively] wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more so will the Father in heaven give holy spirit to those asking him!" (Luke 11:13) Let us continue praying to Jehovah for his holy spirit. With this most powerful force backing us up in our determination to oppose the Devil, we will be able to come off victorious. In addition to regular and fervent prayer, we need to put on the complete suit of spiritual armor from God in order 'to stand firm against the machinations, or crafty acts, of the
  Devil.--Eph. 6: 11-18.

  So why does the WTS feel it is necessary to insert their explanation in the scripture itself? I would wager that at least 50% of jws don't even have a clue that this is adding to the Bible

  I'd put the use of brackets ([]) right up there with the use of ellipses (...) as the most frequent and dishonest tools the WT uses to distort material for the rank-and-file. Those two items alone account for easily two-thirds of the misinformation that's passed on to Witnesses.

  What's worse is that JWs don't even know they're being hornswaggled, because to them, the use of brackets and ellipses appears to be normal. After all, the Governing Body would never be dishonest or deceptive, would they?
