Jesus mentioned in Mat 5:3 that the meek ones will possess the earth but besides that

Jesus and the rest of the apostles did not preach about living on earth

    as a reward for faithfulness.

Those scriptures that the watchtower uses in proverbs and psalms always applied to the nation of israel

under the reign of Solomom where " they would be sitting under their vine and fig tree"

The righteous will always be here on the earth it doesn't mean that it will be in a paradise.

And I'm not sure this means that each individual will live forever.

So contextually the society teaches that this verse is teaching a universal truth. Righteous people will always be found on the earth, not that the watchtower's adherents will live forever on a paradise earth (TM)

Similar to the 1974 Watchtower, a 1986 Watchtower also mentions that its original application was to Jews.

Watchtower 1986 January 1 p.31 "Since Psalm 37:29 has been translated "The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever," does it refer simply to Israel's permanently occupying the Promised Land?

…The above rendering of Psalm 37:29 is from the King James Version. As is true of many other versions, it renders the Hebrew 'e´rets as "land." 'E´rets can refer to a distinct region or to the territory of a nation, such as "the land of Shinar" or "the land of Egypt."-Genesis 10:10, 11; 21:21; Psalm 78:12; Jeremiah 25:20. So Psalm 37:11, 29 might indicate that the Israelites could have been and should have been permanent occupants of the Promised Land. In accord with God's covenant with Abraham, they could have remained in that territory that God gave them, with generation after generation enjoying his blessings there. However, it did not work out that way, for the Israelites became unfaithful to God."

Thanks for all your responses. I guess what I always try to get through to my mom is that I don't believe only JW's will survive. I think they are so closed minded and I can't believe only a few months ago I felt the same way.

I wish they'd wake up! It tears families apart, and makes for agony on those who choose NOT to believe. Fawk!

    Matthew 13.11,34-35 .

If you are not in the true christian faith you will not fully understand the secrets of God's Kingdom.

    Read Luke 23.43 :

" Today you will be in Paradise with me "."Today " is explained in Hebrews 4.1-10.

The day Jesus was speaking about was not 24-hour day of course because when man dies he dies .To live on there must be resurrection.

So, they will be Paradise on earth .Earth is forever-Psalm 104.5.

Get also Psalm 128 where each God-fearing servant is promised to have a wife and children .I am God-fearing servant and have no wife as yet and plan to be so till the end of the present world order that I expect in 2011 AD if you could only study my posts. If the end doesn't come I am planing to die celibate and God's promise stands for sure .So when I am going to have a wife ? In Paradise on earth .
