Ever have a moment where something stressed you out, then something else, then another thing, and then you remembered the "Global Financial Crisis" and before you knew it your nerves were shot to hell???

[ Insert Al Gore Scream ]

I have found myself doing that over the last few weeks. I end up having to spend a few hours talking myself down.

What is odd is that I know, statisically, we all have a very low chance of loosing our jobs. Unemployment is at about 7.5%.

I sure hope I'm not the only one who is freaking out from time to time.

I had to quit watching the news. As it was unnerving. Besides the crisis, watching the people that are trying to figure this all out is even more unnerving.

My son has taken his hit, he builds houses. While he has been busy all winter, which in good times, working all winter is unusual, he has been working for less money.

He finally had to take a dollar an hour pay cut from his crew last week.

He has been saying he was going to do it for two months but just hated doing it.

Part of the problem is illegal immigrants working for lower wages, I just read though, that last year over One million immegrants left for various reasons, but mostly there was no work for them.

No, it doesn't bother me at all. Really! I don't mind bailing out those poor banks and car manufacturers. They need that money to go to spa's and stay in the best resorts in the world. I think the CEO's should be rewarded by getting huge bonuses with our tax dollars because they are doing such an outstanding job! That's why I work so hard for little money. So I can hand it over to needy people like that. Its perfectly fine for people to not be held accountable for their actions. To go ahead and spend money they don't have and then ask for handouts from hard working people. And at the end of the day we can all watch the stock market take another dump!

I guess it does bother me a little.

Yes, it has rattled my nerves, too. But I just try to remind myself that this is not, and likely won't be, as bad as the Great Depression, and we got through that (not me personally, but my grandparents did). And hopefully, economists know more now than they did then.

When you have nothing to lose, you have little to worry about.

Sometimes when we think we have nothing and lose even that, we realize what we had.

I've never been an alarmist. I take sensible precautions and deal with what is rather than what isn't or what might be.

If you think this is bad, just wait until the One World Government takes control. This is just to get people to panic so they will accept One World Government.

Once that happens, they will control everyone. No one will have any freedom. It will be totalitarianism to the extreme--everything you post on these forums will be monitored by the One World Government, and you can get jail time for posting anything that goes against them (or death), not just having your post deleted or getting banned from the forum. You will be herded like cattle. Everything, from the moment and cause of birth to moment and cause of death, will be prearranged. People will be predestined to be poor (almost everyone will be totally dependent on the few Lords that own everything).

If we are lucky, the One World Government Religion will be a mainstream denomination. I highly doubt that it will be atheism (I could not see true atheists pulling this off) or Satanism (again, Satanism values individual rights as atheism does). Rather, it will be some Christian or Muslim denomination, and everyone will be forced to practice it. EVERYONE! The hope is it will not be some cult like Jehovah's Witlesses--or some even crazier cult.

    Unemployment is at about 7.5%.

You don't really believe that do you? If you do - then you oughta be really concerned.

I watched the entire committee on unemployment and statistical data collection - how they get to those figures and yes, even the guys that do it for a living were clear when they said that it is really under reported. The actual figure at any given time is at least 10% higher than the government will ever release to you. So when they say that in some counties here that unemployment is at 13% now - it's laughable because it's really closer to at least 23%.

It's kind of like the poverty line or what it takes to live in the country. The poverty level is about $12,000 for a family of 2 but in that figure costs are not based on all necessities of living such as food, heat, housing etc.

Do I feel unnerved? No - I can do nothing about where the country is headed so I'm along for the ride. Do I wish all the crooks would be imprisoned? You bet-including the Madoff and Madoff clones that still sit in their million dollar mansions. In the end though what will be will be. sammieswife.
