Stupid, probably to wined up to reply to this thread...but I'm going to try....
I was a single mom of 5, then 6. My jw husband moved in with a girl from his work 10 days before our 5th baby was born. He (unknown to me) became a Coke addict at the time. Most of you know the story....18 months after I divorced him, I married a crazy JW who abused us (he did 3 months jail time and 1 year probation for what he did to us. But not before I had 1 more baby.
As a single mom of 6 I know that it is damn near impossible to raise 6 alone, let alone 14. I think the woman is crazy. If people don't come through for her she's hooped. There's just no way. She's going to need to be a leech on society just to make an effort at raising those babies. It's the only way she can do it.
My ex-husbands are collectively are over $60K in arrears in their child support. I went back to school, married again (to a good non-JW), and not collecting welfare. My oldest daughter is graduating from UBC-Okanagan as an RN in June at 21 years of age.
I just don't know how she can do it. It's just not possible. I so many times just wanted to bail out...run away...disappear. I didn't, but with 14 and no help...I just might have! It acually might have been the most loving thing I could have done for my kids. Someone else may have been able to give to them what I couldn't.

Well, her publicist just quit on her - apparently, the publicist has been receiving death threats. So Octomom went and got herself an agent to represent her for her book deal or reality show. She also put a gag order on her mother - the mother was paid $48,000 for her interview where she said her daughter was whacko. The 6 kids are still at moms as far as the snoops have said but Octomom visits on Fridays because there were hundreds of emails with some nasty things to say aainst her. Oh yes, and the church she said she belonged to has denied they ever heard of her..oh ...and 2 plastic surgeons reviewed her pictures from prior years to now and they confirm that it would appear that she has had plastic surgery on her nose, her lips, her cheeks and her jaw...even though she lied and said she didn't. Angela Jolie has reported that she is creeped out by the letters that Octomom sent her praising her for her work and large family.....
Despite that though - think of the logistics. You need 8 carseats put in a couple of vans just to get the kids out of the hospital and to a home that has 8 cribs for the babies. That takes a lot of volunteers - and you have to have somehwere to put them - a house with enough room and resources to care for them. Babies are fed every 4 hours..changed..bathed..so by the time you feed all 8, change them, bathe them get them to sleep - the first is up and it starts all over again. Taking them out to their doctors appointments would require an enormous amount of energy and organization - 2 things it doesn't look like she has.
I only hope that they get loving care - I'm not sure from who or how at this point but I do hope the kids in the long run are all healthy and well cared for. sammieswife.
