Have we judged God?

A very interesting conversation that I have been having with a very nice Jehovah's Witness in private has led me to ask this question.

Have we judged Jehovah based on the conduct of humans, our families, people in the congregation, even governing body members?

Does this distract us from a direct view of God and his personality and purposes?

Don't just jump on me, think about my point and let me know what you think.

    I did once.
After I had left, several months I think, a witness friend wanted to go to dinner, at dinner she asked when I was going to be coming back. I said, I wasnt.
I said, Diane.... I dont want to be a game piece in Jehovhas and Satans game. I said, The whole world is a game of chess, and they are the players, moving us, watching us, which side will we choose, back and forth, back and forth, I dont want to play in there game anymore.
Needless to say, I never saw Diane again.
And I dont feel that way anymore.
But I did, so yes in answer to your question, I judged God because of my unhappiness with being a witness.

Hey Joel,I don`t know if you have noticed, but if you question the jw organization they immediatly think your judgeing God.In other words you can`t judge their organization with out judgeing God.I find this total nonsense.I judge the organization and its people on their own merits and will not let them hide their misdeeds behind God.They must realize,God is not makeing the mistakes, they are,and they must take responsibility for them..MERRY CHRISTMAS JOEL...OUTLAW

As far as the accusation of judging God based on his name people is
concerned, that is nothing more than a diversionary tactic.

But, if we haven't judged God, then maybe we should. And, we should use
    his own standards.

According to the Bible, God is a murderer, liar, and all around dishonest
person. He has ordered genocide and execution of children.

I think we can safely judge God, and find him guilty.

Joel.....do you think God is doing 'anything' these days...i.e. active? I would say he is doing nothing....you can judge on that basis.

Talking about having absolutely no sense! Wow, you get the prize. Of course there's more on this forum that have made essentially the same claims as you have here. They want to blame God for such things as the death's of the children and their parents that died in the Flood, and those that will die at Armageddon. They want to blame God for the loss of life when the Israelites took over their God-given land (called the promised land). Oh no, it WASN'T the fault of those who refused to listen to Noah. Oh no, it WASN'T the fault of the parents of those Canaanite children ... parents who refused to acknowledge God's authority. Yes people known as the Canaanites, due to being the decendents of he who was the son of he who showed such great disrespect for Noah. Oh no, IT WAS ALL GOD'S FAULT. So he's a "murderer" etc. I'd be surprised if you, Runningman, can really find your way to the bathroom, or if by some stroke of luck you could you'd probably poop into the bathtub instead of the commode.

I'm not sure what I think god is doing.

I am asking if we have judged god based on the behaviors of imperfect and possibly even evil people that we have run across in our life.

I am asking if we have truly examined and judged god himself or if he have judged him based on false premises and hearsay.

That is a common accusation that jws and christians make. Its an easy way for them to turn the tide against a questioner, putting him/her on the defencive. They are then able to avoid meeting the challenges to their own belief/faith.

Peoples' actions had nothing to w my changing views of god. Once the wt was discredited for me, there was only jesus and the bible between me and god. After the bible lost value for me as a word from god, there was nothing between me and god. Isn't that how it should be?

Thanks for accepting the fact that there is nothing between you and God ... no relationship ... no anything. That explains a lot as to your choice for a screen name.

Yes, in part I have judged God, not by the people in the world specifically, but rather those in the WTBS organization who claim to represent him. Guilt by association.

Again, the simplistic JW argument goes as follows... "If you were mad at your brother, would you stop talking to or blame your father?"

These quotes and quips are quite clever. But just like the Bible what you use to condemn others curses you, and so one could argue this... "if you went to a restaurant and the food was terrible and the service substandard, would you blame your fellow patrons or the management?"

What, if any, responsibility does mighty Jah have when the WTBS make rulings (by majority vote!)on things like blood, 1914 "generation", no part of the world mantra applied to Mexico/Malawi, college, holidays, etc, etc?

And these same things are later covered up, changed, altered, or outright negated.

Then again, I suppose one could also say dont judge God by others or those who claim to represent him. Judge him by the personal relationship you have with him. That begs the question: Why be part of organized religion at all? Being in it is somewhat like being in a high school for adults.
