Purps, the ones who get away with it are so charming nobody would EVER believe they are doing it.

edited to add: And you are right about the charming part, my ex came off that way and I sounded like I must have deserved what I got, that is why so many women are silent about it, well one of the reasons, My own mother told me I deserved it!!!!!!!!!

Thought I would point out that even still in many states, there is no such thing as spousal rape. Something to keep in mind when speaking of what is "part of a culture."
