On exmo sites, we have done polls. People who leave the LDS cult lean heavily to the introverted side. I suspect many extroverts have too much to lose socially to allow themselves to think. Too much to lose. My wife and I are definitely intro perverts.

Are most of you extro or intro or have you discussed this already?

    extro here.

This might become a very biased sample since intro's might be too shy to respond.

Very intro here. I am usually very shy when I am around people. Once I do get to know some people, especially if they become friends, it makes it a bit easier, but is still hit or miss as to whether I will open up or not. I have met many people from this board, and it has really helped me be able to not be as shy, as my experiences with them have been very pleasant. I think a lot of it for me are self-esteem issues.

I tried took a test on that subject some time ago, and after I turned it in, some guys in white jackets stormed in and took me away and put a strange jacket on me. I guess they thought I waved my arms too much or something, because I could use them while I wore that jacket.

I never did figure out how I scored on that test.

I'm introverted and prefer my own company. Most people are just a pain in the ass.

Rather introverted and shy irl unless it is with someone I already know and then I open up.

best analogy I heard was the comparison between two identical electric toys - identical except that one has a normal battery and the other one has a solar panel

they both perform the same outwardly, but the solar panel powered toy doesn't work in the cupboard - the battery powered one does - it has its own onboard source of energy

extroverts 'need' the stimulation of external events/people, whereas introverts carry their own stimuli with them

I'm a solar panel:) I get depressed if I'm not around a lot of people often. I feel so much more secure in the presence of others than alone.

I am also fiercely independent and can do just about anything alone if no one wants to join me. I know, I'm expecting the dirty jokes to hit about....NOW.

I enjoy my alone time, too, just not too much of it.
