Doe!!! You've never seen the ocean??? Come out to Cali man!!! Even though you irritate the hell out of me, I would be an awesome hostess!
Cali? Heck, I might as well be going across the ocean--that's somewhere around 2,000 miles from here. There's really nothing in California I want to see. I'd like to see some big redwoods, but I'd go north of cali for that.
Besides, Texas has much more interesting history.
Elsewhere, if I go by the statue during the daylight, I'll stop and take a picture. Which reminds me, I need to go to bed. I'm going to get up at 6, and that's pretty early for me.
Resist the darkside John. California sux.

I was going to say - enjoy the scenery. East Texas - that gets into the 'piney woods' area of the state... we don't have that here in San Antonio.
Last time I was in Houston - I picked up a couple of pine cones that were on the ground in the parking lot. My boss - and the salesdude that works at our company both thought I was nutzo - running around picking up the pine cones.
I gave them to my wife - who told me that she also loves pine cones.
But... I'm sure there are much more interesting things to do while at the coast. Just watch out for the jellyfish and man-o-war.
If it were me going - I'd be tempted to throw my metal detector into the back of the car - and spend a bit of time scanning the beach - looking for treasure (and finding bottle caps).

Jim TX

Sorry, my bad. California blows. Or maybe just LA. I lived there for a while.
While you're there you should try to scare up some tail. That way you could scratch off another first!
Oh my god that's f-ing funny!
Well, I know this is anticlimatic, but I got up this morning and just don't feel like going anywhere. I think I'm going to wait til this summer to go to the coast. Besides, it's a nice day to read a book.
Or maybe just LA.
No argument there Padre! No Cal is beayoooooooootiful!
Hey John,
