sooooo.....these two elders are/were two of my best friends ever.......so this was all very sincere and loving....these are first class guys and really really brainy with impressive secular jobs.......both wealthy btw.....
Olin they came because i told them months ago over dinner that losing my faith sucked.....and i wish i could get it back, but it would be very difficult ....they said they would get with me soon......did not happen.......then the "help the faded" WT and i got a phone call....and then i went to a meeting.......so a combo of reasons they came over, but i did not request it.......(i was careful to never say i no longer believe ALL of the bible, nor ALL JW teachings, nor ALL belief in god btw)....not once did they ask any question at all about what i believe or not, nor the biggies about if i beleive in FDS or if it the "TRUTH"....
it was pretty interesting.....but i think i better not talk much about it here for certain reasons....pm/e-mail or call if you want the interesting details.......biggest point stressed over and over was importance of meetings....and there was a lot of talk about how and why restoring my faith is such a challenge........sorry, but that is all i better say...........

OOMPA- Just don't let these guys bring you under the spell of " cult mind control " again. They will try to scare you into coming back by saying that " Satan's challenging your faith " or the " wicked system " is " challenging your faith. " They will compel you to come back with sugar coated expressions- even said poiltely , but the motive is the same to induce fear or guilt into you. Be strong

When I was going through the process of disassociating myself I had about 5 different meeting with the elders and each time they tried these tactics I could see how someone could easily fall into their reasonings. For me though I could see through them. Every time they mentioned some of these scare tactics I would just say that I'm sure every other religious group says the same thing to their members when they leave. I mentioned how when many enter the organization it was because they had an open mind to listen in the first place just as I was having an open mind accepting the historical and biblical facts that the organization is wrong.
Those meetings were awesome and satisfying. No one could answer any of my questions and there would be pauses of silence. The elders in the end just said they didn't agree with me.
I don't know much about your situation oompa, I'm kinda new here. I know its very difficult and everyones situation is different. But what is holding you back from cutting ties completely?

Should have told them you've identified the commercial aspect that spurred the formation of the WTS
as one reason to not be associated with this organization and their stated doctrines have been established to support
the circulation of literature.
You have to be aware of their tactics, such picking people that you knew closely as the ones that do the shepherding.
You have to realize Oompa that your returning to the Hall was the thing that instigated this call.
I would have worn an Cross around your neck and then greeted them at the door and watch what happens.
