For all the visits I've paid to the Farm, I've never been to the "Launching Pad". I'm kind of amazed at Max and Sam Friend, Knorr, Swingle and Co. Amazing that they had no family to care for their remains. Or maybe they just felt that WT was their life, better to be interred there as well. Anyway, it's kind of sad, particularly Maxwell Friend. I liked him.

"Launching Pad" to me has always seemed to be very disrespectful phrase.
I wonder who originated it?
I doubt very much that anyone has been launched at all.
The whole JW religion is a joke, and a bad one at that.
Thanks for posting them. I wouldn't mind seeing any other that people might have
....and, I have to say this, seeing these photos of the plots has made me a little sad as well.
Those sad images just go to show how little regard they have for human life and sacrifice.
These people gave up everything to serve a man-made organization that has destroyed so many lives.
I doubt there is one religion on the face of the earth that gives so little respect for the sacrifice of the people that adhere to its beleifs.
I remember being taken to see Knorr's grave with its tiny stone. Even then I thought it was a sorry way to show respect for his life's work

Excellent point. Of course in dubland, one is not supposed to glorify the individual. All glory must go to Jehovah. Don't eulogize the dead they say. It's sad because wouldn't glorifying the person also give glory to their Creator?

I thought it was a sad representation of all those who truly believed they would never grow old in this system of things or die. Most of them were QUITE elderly and did die, having been here, some of them, long enough to be in expectation of the patriarchs shacking up in so. california.:) And then they die at advanced ages(mostly) with no more rememberance than that simple headstone.
I am surprised that the WT sprung for headstones, frankly!
sad because they probably served most of their life, expecting to be changed into spirit beings, or hoping to see the fulfillment of their prophesies!
Ah man - it brings to mind brother and sister Jordan from my old congregation. They were one of those genuine old couples, they had a deep love for their god and for each other. Brother Jordan had one of those big booming voices (kinda like james earl jones...???) that made you feel safe and warm - I enjoyed the answers he would give. He passed on, living dear sister Jordan - not many people would visit with her, I would pop down and take her chocolates and have tea with her. She told the most amazing stories of when they were young and pioneered together. She passed before I left the faith - yes very sad!
A sad thought: Their crop: human souls!
