I remember them saying that the Sadducees didn't believe in a ressurection and that is why they are "sad you see"?
Old Hippie, I was told that JW would erase "painful memories" from his people in the new world. I remember reading that in the Watchtower studies. I wondered what would keep them on the straight and narrow. I was told quite often from my JW hubby that his JW mom assured him that if I did not come back into the organization that Jehovah would give him a new wife in the "New System"and make him forget about me.
Well guess what, he died and will have to be resurrected now. From what I remember they teach that if you are resurrected you can't marry. As far as that teaching goes..I always wondered why it sounded so familiar, it reminded me of what happens to those that have been exposed to high levels of radiation, they can't have children. Then I wonder...are they really talking about a nuclear war?..How would people on earth know the difference?
As far as the limbs go, I was told they would slowly grow back...
And reading this once again stirs up the question I have had since my Dad died. Why do people still register brain waves a long time after they die?
When I found out he still had brain waves registering after they had already pronounced him dead..I refused to leave him. I watched him like a hawk for any kind of bodily movement at all..I stayed several hours and they finally convinced me he was dead. They had some scientific explanation of why he still had brain waves..but I never did believe them. Now I always wonder..do our thoughts really stop when we die? Can the brain still function without the heart sending blood to it?
I really don't believe it lives on but that shook me up about the brainwave activity lingering on....
Snoozy...thinking about the movie "Multiplicity"..where the "Clones" took over...
