I know a lady your age that drives. She will only drive certain times of the day and only certain days.
She is well aware of the sparsest times of traffic flow and makes her quick errands then.
I am not sure exactly what her "drive hours" are.
I am sure she stays off highways during peak hours of to/from work traffic, lunch, and school buses.

I was nervous when I went for mine two years ago, but I "passed" and so did the nervousness ...
