My problem with vanilla sky is that they throw the ending at you, there is a tiny, allusion to what is really going on at the beginning. But you really can't quite guess what is going on until the very end. So you are left in confusion and its a very frustrating ride until the end.

I liked the movie I just wish it had been set up more like sixth sense, where there were many clues and hints as to what was really going on, like a mystery novel.

oh waiting, as for spy games, I agree it was good but it was unrealstic as hell. Do you really beleive that a lone man who just retired from the CIA (and therefore have all access wiped) be able to anonymously call a military strike into communist china? Do you think the US would really rescue a spy in communist china? The realistic scenario is he would have been executed and the american public would never have known he was ever a spy.

    Hi Waiting,

Spy Games sounds good, but if Bboy's right, then you have to employ 'the willing suspension of disbelief.' Nothing wrong with that.

Bboy, you remind me of one of my sons who seems to zoom in on any inconsistency like a heat-seeking missile.

Btw, I've missed your posts, Bboy. How have you been? Good to see you!

    Merry Xmas!

    howdy bboy,

There was a quote about Mel Gibson movies: "They're all the same. Make Mel mad - and he gets even."

I didn't say it was realistic - I said it held my attention. I believe that MOST action/spy movies suspend common sense. I don't go to the movies for common sense/reason. I'm perfectly content to escape for a couple of hours. If it holds my interest/imagination....great! I've even been debating going to see Harry Potter - I don't think it'll be based in reality.

I agree with your realistic view - the spy would have been killed along with the woman, the CIA/FBI agents would be promoted....and the world would assume itself to be a little safer.

Good to have you back posting.

i was touched by the scene where brad pitts convinces the shieks doctor to administer the deadly dose of unamed poison and everything goes wrong, it was an important scene cuz it was brad pitts motivation for rebelling against the rules.

my other problem with the film was the villain character was 'too' villany if you will :)

I saw it tonight and didn't like it. It reminded me of Total Recall.
