Clueless.... So sorry!
I so understand your feelings. As a life long, long haired blonde, I totally understand! When you lose your locks it seems as if you lose yourself.
So many salons cheap or highend, love to cut off the length, and think you will look cute with a butcher job. No matter where no matter how much, they are all the same.
Now when I go in, when they say we'll take off an inch, I request their version of an inch. Usually its like five inches or more. I then give them the exact amount they can take off. NO more thinning, layers, a couple of inches, etc.
I found a fantastic hair dresser in Denver, but I was only visiting so won't be able to go back.
I have also found male hairdressers are much better about listening to requests from girls with long hair than female hairdressers.
