Flipper, look out for JWs posted as guards out in the parking lot, while the meeting is in progress.

I once sent my cousin (non JW) to a meeting to ask for a copy of the WT and, as he was taking a shortcut through the parking lot he was confronted by one of the brothers asking him what he was doing.

If you keep doing that more power to you but just keep an eye out. Also it would not be a bad idea to have a tape recorder on you. I know it sounds paranoid but it could come in handy if you are assaulted.

Flipper, in my area, a lot of Dubs leave WTs and Awakes at laundromats. According to the attendants, the only people who read them are the Latinos who come in to do laundry. I go around and collect them when I can. (Yes, I still have a "magazine route.") Can you send me some of these things in Spanish so I can leave them at my local laundromats? Around here, the only growth in the Dubs is amongst the Latinos. I'm doing my part to stop it.

You may want to blanket your local laundries, too.

My thinking was along the lines of StAnn's, leave those flyers at laundromats, libraries, Doctor's offices, Dentist. Better yet, dress up like a jw going door to door and stick them in door's. I admire what you did.

Do a search on this site, and you'll find a thread on it, 9 pages long. There are many links to newspaper articles in it, but some are not available because this happened in 2007.

I am pretty sure "Freeminds" and "Silent Lambs" will have links to them.

You can search the member list for "Danny Haszard" and you can get it that way, also. As I already said, it will be in 2007.

JAMIBOWERS- Thanks Jamie. I do hope some of these witnesses read the info.

AFRICAN GB MEMBER- Not reporting any hours at all thank you very much. My clean conscience is my reward .

STILL IN 74- The one thing about this " pamphlet " / paper news release is it is from the Associated press news release and IS NOT apostate information. So the witnesses can't decline it on that basis accurately.

MKR 32208- Good suggestion bro- but what if the 1 person throws away the news release ? Then nobody sees it. You get my drift ? So that's why I left a number of them under different cars. My thinking is that, yes, like you say some MAY throw them away, but if just 1 or 2 people read the info then they might think about it and really ponder on it. You just never know. To me- it's worth the effort.

VERY STUPID 77 - That's the way I see it as well. If just one person reads this information- then maybe one child will be protected better.

KEYSER SOZE- That's my thought. If just 1 person reads it I'll be happy. Hey, like you say the witnesses leave their Watchtowers laying around everywhere. What's wrong with us leaving informative articles about child abuse laying around everywhere ? LOL!

The WT society keeps the witnesses under such a tight information control - it's always a good thing to inform them about reality. They are fed such fantasy all the time - a dose of reality certainly helps them, sure can't hurt them.

BILLY the EX- BETHELITE- That is a good suggestion to tell the witnesses that other religions are having this happen too. It is a method Steve Hassan mentioned as well in his books. The comparitive thing. Cool.

AWAKENED in GILEAD- Don't have any links other than the ones I'll cook up for breakfast in the morning for Mrs. Flipper. But , yeah, the witnesses should read this because it does come from the Associated Press news ! Of course they think all news is from the Devil- so we are probably screwed any way you look at it ! LOL! But hey, it's worth a try ! Thanks.

VILLABOLO- I will keep an eye out for thug like attendants in parking lots wanting to beat the daylights out of me for just giving them the " real truth ". But I leave it when nobody is there during their service time- so it should all be cool.

Is there any way they could legally do anything to you for doing this?

If someone "caught" you putting out info on cars....could they have you fined for littering, trespassing, or cite you in some way to keep you from returning to their parking lot?

I am asking about these possibilities of bringing trouble on yourself in case others decide to follow in your footsteps. What could be possible reprocussions?

Another approach I have considered is canvassing the immediate area around the KH [just like FS] with a card listing internet links, and suggesting that although you are not aware of any specific danger, there is history of this religion allowing pedophiles to go out in service and talk to children. Taking the approach that to be forewarned is to be armed and protected. If that was done in a dignified and respectful manner, some dubs would likely hear the information that the householders eventually found through research.
