Do You Believe in Prophetic Dreams?

I think I was told that WT stand is that dreams, visions, and miracles ceased at the death of Jesus. Is this correct?

How do you personally feel about this, now that you are no longer required to believe their dictates?

Have you ever had dreams that seemed to have deep mysterious meanings?

Have you ever pondered if your dreams could be prophetic of a future event?

Or do you think it's just entertainment/subconscious/ rationational explanations?

    Hi,

Yes for sure. I have had a load.

God spoke to people in dreams throughout the bible-the Godly and the unGodly alike. Any reason He would change His mind on doing that as the WT would have you believe?

BTW I am just reading a Christian book on dream and vision interpretation. I am doing OK but it is always good to develop your gifting and seek the greater gifts.

    Had any dreams lately?

    All the best,

    Stephen

    Had any dreams lately?

Why, yes, as a matter of fact.

I saw huge metal containers being unloaded with tall cranes. The containers looked to be about 8 to 10 feet tall and about 4 to 5 feet wide. Some were grey; some were red. There was a series of numbers painted on them on the upper right hand side.

At sometime in the dream there was an implication of a trojan horse that had been unloaded in installments over a period of a couple of years.

And at the end of the dream there was a parade with dragon kites.

    Cool :)

I feel you have partially perceived some of what is going on in the dream. The trojan horse is the key. A trojan horse is a trick from the enemy. It is a device by which you will let the enemy directly into your camp. The metal containers signify things that are shipped globally. They are things which are arriving from far off lands, the far east and such. What is inside is hidden. The grey signifies this. The red I am not sure about. How many red ones were there? The parade at the end is when the contents are revealed.

I feel that God is talking to you about what you let into your camp. You are interested in many spiritual things from all round the world but the truth about them is hidden. Keep your focus on Jesus and not the enemy.

I hope this doesn't seem harsh. If it is any consolation, God told me I was focused too much on what the enemy's schemes were and not His plans for good when I came to faith!

    All the best,

    Stephen

I assume "god telling you" is something that you yourself perceive in an intuitive manner.

It is a universal law of nature that you must know enemy schemes in order to know what actions to take to nullify or overcome them.

If you don't know a poisonous plant from an edible plant, you could die from ingesting it.

You cannot know joy to any depth unless you have sadness for comparison. Otherwise, you become jaded.

We have been given the opportunity to know both good and evil for a reason.

I do not think it is wise to put your head in the sand and pretend evil does not exist.

Nor is it wise to think someone else will always fix things.

As old sayings go: "Know your enemies". "Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer."

Jesus said you have the power to crush serpents.

In other words, you have the potential to overcome these evils.

But in order to do that, you must be familiar with the snakes habitat and their nature.

You are given the capability of taking personal responsibility.

    Hi cd,

I assume "god telling you" is something that you yourself perceive in an intuitive manner.

Only by His Holy Spirit, without Jesus we can do nothing. These verses should help explain.

    John 14:16-18 (New International Version)

16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

It is a universal law of nature that you must know enemy schemes in order to know what actions to take to nullify or overcome them.

I kind of would have agreed in the past but by their very nature, the trojan horses are hidden and deceptive.

God does not want us to stick our heads in the sand and pretend the enemy doesn't exist, far from it. However, He is God and He knows exactly who the enemy is and what they are up to. He wants us to trust Him and focus on Him first and foremost.

    John 8:31-32 (New International Version)
31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." All the best, Stephen

The Trojan Horse refers to the stratagem that allowed the Greeks to finally enter the city of Troy during the Trojan War. In the best-known version of this Bronze Age story, after a fruitless 10-year siege of Troy, the Greeks built a huge figure of a horse, in which a select force of men hid. The Greeks pretended to sail away, and the Trojans pulled the Horse into their city as a victory trophy. That night the Greek force crept out of the Horse and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army, which had sailed back under cover of night. The Greek army entered and destroyed the city, decisively ending the war. A "Trojan Horse" has come to mean any trick that causes a target to invite a foe into a securely protected bastion or place.

The thing to note here is the double deception! Not only is the horse deceptive but also is the ships sailing away. See how they return en masse under the cover of darkness. That is the main trait of the enemy, deception under the cover of darkness.

Hold up the light and all is made plain.

    John 1:1-5 (English Standard Version)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. The only dreams I can "believe in" are my own, and none have ever predicted anything at all. I can sometimes relate a dream to a problem I'm worrying about, but the dream doesn't reveal the answer to the problem.

    Chalam,

According to this you don't seem to know the difference between who is telling you what.

First you say it's god, then you make some assertion that Jesus is actually the holy spirit.

I think you need to spend some time reading and actively thinking (i.e. exercise your brain) instead of spamming this board with stufff that you yourself do not even understand nor can clearly articulate.

"God does not want us to stick our heads in the sand and pretend the enemy doesn't exist, far from it. However, He is God and He knows exactly who the enemy is and what they are up to. He wants us to trust Him and focus on Him first and foremost."

This is very condescending and arrogant to propose that you can actually read god's mind to know what he wants everyone to do. It is very WatchTower-esque.

I do not need for you to explain to me what a Trojan horse is. If I had not known what it was I would not have posted this thread.

Maybe you would be more appreciated on a different board. I think your talents are wasted here.

I had a dream that later "came true." I chalk it up to coincidence though. How many dreams have you had that didn't come true? This is one of those things that demonstrate how we tend to notice the hits and not remember the misses.
