I have enjoyed to read his posts too. Way to disfellowship him from here? I am waiting for more news from his congregation.

What if he's committing a conspiracy to turn away JWs in good standing from reading JWD by having them see his postings? Seeing all these "tabloid" postings, I think he thinks will turn them off to the very obvious postings that is full of crap.

Are you all wound so tightly that you cannot see that HUMOR can be a very effective way to reach some people that you can't reach by arguing about faulty doctrine?

JWs are set up and trained to oppose verbal argument.

They automatically turn a deaf ear and cannot even hear what you say.

Surely you have seen this with JW apologists on this board.

They don't even read what you write to them.

They glance over it, pick out a trigger word and robotically respond to that trigger without even considering your well articulated build.

Stark exaggerated humor can throw people off guard.

When they don't have to immediately put up the deaf wall of defense, bits of humor may sink into memory.

Later, it may surface as the questions it posed subconsciously come forth.

Didn't you see this very technique used in the movie "Religilious"?

When asked simple straightforward questions, people gave the most absurd ridiculous answers ; the parody being that they seriously believed those answers.

Meanwhile, those who may have held those same illogical brainwashed opinions, may eventually question them after seeing how absurd these things are from the lens of a camera.

People have never really looked in the mirror!

Maybe, just maybe African GB Member's humor may cause some hard nosed JW sneeking a peek at this board to begin to realize the "silliness" of some of the WT dictates.

And for those who respond on GB's threads with mention of how a particular instance may have affected them, then the harsh cruel reality of it begins to set in.

The most important thing is that the JWs mind has been taken off "auto pilot" by the obvious exaggeration of humor and this person is in a defenseless mode...so maybe some of the comments will sink in and take root.

I am not a psychologist; I am not a JW.

Will it work? I don't know.

I am only hypothesizing.

What do you all think? Is it worth a try?

If you don't like the posts don't comment on them. They will dissappear quick enough. The fact that people post so many comments on his threads keeps him in business.

If we can put up with people who are actively crazy and probably dangerous. If we can put up with people who are delusional and who's politics are idiotic. If we can put up with people who are conspiracy theory obsessed. If we can put up with all of these types named above posting topic after topic after topic after topic... (I don't think I need to post a list of all of them do I? I mean there are a shit ton)

Then I think we can put up with African GB who has posted what 3 or 4 of his silly 'experience' threads! I mean compared to burn starting a thread an hour about how bad Obama is AGB doesn't even COMPARE!

I agree that AGB should be allowed to post. At the same time, I am concerned that the experiences are somewhat made up, and could only increase a credibility gap the GB says is out there in the ex JW community.

But, having said that, if its true, great. It's very unusual to see so many experiences from the same person at the same time. Thats all.

Full african congregations are EXTREMELY different to a white one - I can personally vouch for that. The whole vibe is different when you're gathering in a delaperdated hall with no electricity and the brothers & sisters start singing - goose pimples!

As for African GB - I cannot say - I've asked what congregation he is in to see if I know anyone....

I think we should leave him alone. There are so many people on here every day going through tough times emotionally because of witness rules.

How many are being shunned every day ? How many cry every day through not being able to see or talk to family members ? How many are

stressed through still going to meetings but stay in for fear of what will happen if they dont ? Sometimes reading some crap / humorous stories

can lighten a few minutes of their day. Everyone has something to contribute, sometimes serious, sometimes doctrinal, and sometimes funny.

Let him be funny..........You think he's not having a laugh himself ?

african gb in one sense does hold a mirror up by his exagerations by the way ex-Jws desperately want his experiences to be true, if it is humour on his part it is cruel because he knows he is playing on one groups emotions over another group.

I do not like his posts, while I would want to open the eyes of some ex-Jws on here to how much their predjudice has them fermenting in their own hate that they want to apply every wrongdoing to the Jws. I do not think someone's gross humour should be used to play on this or worse to cultivate the easily convinced that these exagerations are true.

interesting suggestion of a filter to avoid reading certain posters reply and also avoid having to reply as a form of internet 'shunning'
