I have actually heard of things like this happening. Usually, it is because the witless feels uncomfortable working for someone that is disfellowshipped, especially if that person is the boss. They go beyond the things written, even by the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger, because they are too self-righteous and imagine that they are being super righteous if they quit.
Not that I would recommend doing it, unless you already have a dislike for the job and have a better one lined up.

I was briefly employed by a jw. In order to get the job I had to be interviewed by an elder-owner (separate from job interview) who asked me if I'm an apostate and said he'd ok it if I agreed not to talk against the society.
I guess I'm a troll too.
