What's with the damn media panic? Swine flu is gonna wipe out the world!.....like the Witnesses I'm tired of these lies, Sars and Bird flu were not that huge....a year ago a scientist said Birdflu would be the next "Spanish influenza" killing millions......hello, I'm still here wearing a gas mask!

Actually I agree with you, Witness OO7, but some people will get the flu and hopefully will use the advice I gave on another thread.a
If this was going to kill a lot of people, I think it would have already. Saying that it may have killed 200 in Mexico, and infected possibly a couple of thousand helps to keep the matter in perspective.
Also, the people in the USA don't seem to be overly affected, just unwell.
It could be another "false flag" attack on the people.
Designed just to work up their nerves.
If you believe everything you hear, the stress of all this crap will finally knock you on your a$$.
Also, if people become jaded to hearing all this stuff constantly, like the boy that cried wolf, no one will believe it if something really does happen.
Cameo-d - Time will tell if it is a false flag but Baxter drug company have been working very hard at 'accidentally' releasing mixed human and avian live strains of vaccine and not one government agency has attempted to censor them. They had another 'accident' in Feb of this year. Outrageous!

BUT 007- Those virus's Sars and Birld flu are a GREAT way to plant seeds for something bigger...not saying that this is it, but you can be sure it' COULD keep people on their toes, pay attention and incite FEAR.
Well let's see... 1000+ people infected in Mexico City, a whole school in NYC infected, about 2 dozen in New Zealand infected after a trip to Mexico. The lethality is much lower than H5N1 bird flu, but it's already infected more people in the space of a couple weeks than bird flu. This virus is also an H1N1, the same type that caused the 1918 Spanish Influenza pandemic.
Just because many are paranoid it's no reason not to take these warnings seriously. I've heard from some reliable sources that after several false alarms over many months each costing the government much money that the tsunami warning beacons were told to shove it when sounding warnings in 2004... Lets not fall into the same trap eh?
The difference with this strain is apparently it is not a swine flu..it's a mix and that's why they can't figure it out. It's a mix of avian/swine and human virus mutated and spread human to human without a vaccine for it.
When the CDC tells you that it cannot be contained, then you do need to take some precautions - as with any flu. I don't think the people who have died think its nothing..and the cases have increased 300 since yesterday in Mexico City, so it is spreading.
Do you really think you ever know the truth when it comes to numbers of sick or dead from your media? When SARS hit and the US kept saying it had no cases, it was rather funny because there were reports from people working in clinics that were on the internet saying something entirely different.

Bought some canned food and some beans and rice... just in case. Srsly... might be good to avoid the public for a while in a couple weeks.
One of the things with these pandemic type flus is the deaths tend to be with the relatively young and healthy. They think it's because of something called a Cytokine storm, basically the immune system goes into overdrive and causes all kinds of inflammation and fluid build up.

People should have enough supplies on hand to be self sufficient for a minimum of a month -food/water/pet supplies and such. It's the smart thing to do - then if anything such as the virus does pick up speed, you can reduce or eliminate your interaction with people and decrease any chance of getting sick. People who aren't prepared are always those that end up stampeding to the shops hoping for that last bottle of water...sammieswife.
