    We needed one today

We woke up to Flash Flooding this am,

The first two pics are the front yard I had just jumped out of bed, in my nightgown and grabbed the camera.....took some pics, battery went dead....ran in the house,

bathrooom was flooding, cleaned up that mess....

By the time I got back out again the water was receding. We had to immediately drain the pool to get it back to a level that would not ruin the liner.

Two of our neighbors got flooding in their garages, and one her house flooded.

Streets were closed, traffic had to be diverted into our neighborhood, cars stuck and stalled in rising waters.

It was not near the water I have seen on TV and could not fathom what that might be like, this was pretty scarey.

My daughter is house sitting for some friends that are in Houston, we hope they are OK, have not heard from them yet today.

The forecast calls for rain everyday through Sunday.

I wish we had some of that rain. We've got forest fires. I-75 has been shut down for days.

Glad it wasn't worse for you...

I've had my neighborhood flood a couple of times. It is a helpless feeling watching the water rise and rise. And the hectic pace you go through trying to get things off the floor of the lowest level as the water comes in.

Dang! We are having flash floods in the midwest but nothing like that.

I am glad you are safe and I hope you have flood insurance.

We are not in a floodplain but ....we got a quote on flood ins today and plan to get it very soon, like probably tomorrow as the rain is still going to be coming. We are totally saturated.

I went outside, and it is damp but I see no signs of high water here. Evidently we didn't get hit hard.

Purps, I was beginning to think I was the only one. It still has not stopped here, but right now it has let up a little. At least it didn't come inside my house.

I have 18" tall planting beds on either side of the gates, but you'd never know it. The mountains sound awfully good right now.
