What did the Mystery book say?........................OUTLAW

The book was said to be against the governments of the earth and God would destroy them.
JWs make a huge deal of the government ban on them because of this momentous book.

It's not the full story. The Finished Mystery book was only a small part of it. The officials were accused and found guilty of willfully and unlawfully instigating insubordination, disloyalty and refusal of duty to the armed forces in others (among other things). The Indictment is found here: http://www.watchtowerdocuments.com/downloads/1918_Rutherford_Trial_Part_One.pdf
It's on page 50/100.

From what I remember, the book was a bunch of Rutherord's ramblings against the governments and religions of the world being destroyed. Not much different than in later years but more in Rutherford's bombastic, fire and brimstone manner.
The biggest thing was that the country was in the middle of war hysteria and anything that seemed unpatriotic got people all in a stir. Plus the Catholics prompted political and mobs to take action against the Bible Students. Eventually Rutherford and others were charged and sentanced to prison.
Once the war was over and everything calmed down, charges were dropped and WT execs released, though the Society went on to claim divine intervention in the release of wrongly held prisoners of religious persecution.
I might be off on some of this, I don't remember all the details.

Ann, that was so enlightening!
Well they learned NOT to persuade people from staying or joining in the military. They made it sound as if they were being persecuted because they wrote a book that was against earthly governments and were for only God's gov't.

This is an example of how they try to rewrite the true facts.

You can`t tell soldiers to desert during a War and not expect to get tossed in Jail..Rutherford was an idiot, that thought he was above the Law,or anyone in Authority..He learned differently in jail.....................LOL!!...OUTLAW
