After living an uber-repressed life where even my thoughts were controlled, I found Cosmo to be a nice resource. In fact thanks for bringing it up--I was planning on recommending it to new exes but haven't gotten around to it.
That was when I was in my 20s and a recently deborgified virgin.
I have a free sample subscription to it and it is obviously still for people in their 20s. But I do learn some good skin care tips.

But Cosmo is usually bought by women of a fairly young age..it deals with a lot of issues relating to sex and the single woman, dating, all that good stuff. Nothing wrong with the magazine.
OOmpa is a lot older than 21 and isn't a woman. I think he said his wife is a pretty hardcore JW and I don't think he mentioned having a daughter living at home....so whose buying it and where's he looking at it? It's not a magazine that a hardcore JW would be buying since it pretty well is against all that non sex, being virtuous sort of stuff. The covers are usually of women wearing nice, form fitting clothes - flaunting their wares - it's not Ladies Home Journal the magazine of choice for a lot of Christian women.

It seems like all the ladies magazines have sex tips in them now. Look at the covers when you go through the grocery line. Redbook especially.
