Can most Witnesses distinguish between God and the WT Organization?

    I agree; JW's cannot.

It is the key reason for why they find it so hard to leave. I have heard more time times than I can remember JW's saying about someone that stops being a JW, "Why did they leave Jehovah?" They did not leave Jehovah, they ceased affiliation with a corporation.

Not to slightly deviate from the topic but, it's no wonder they had to change the baptismal questions. Can you imagine if they still baptized members under the old questions? Check this out:

15 This is what we mean when we dedicate our lives to Jehovah. We do not dedicate ourselves to a religion, nor to a man, nor to an organization. No, we dedicate ourselves to the Supreme Sovereign of the Universe, our Creator, Jehovah God himself. This makes dedication a very personal relationship between us and Jehovah.

Not in a Million years my friend. For JW's God=Organization. If you are part of that Org then you "love"God, either wise if you no longer be part of their Org(and beside the fact that you found a new faith and Jesus)still you will be accused that you don't love God

No and I so wish they could. I had a conversation on Saturday very much like yours with an 83 year old sister who felt that she still might not be in the new system because she could still do some serious sin to get Jehovah's disapproval. HOW SAD is that.

It would not be God's disapproval but the WT's disapproval. They just cannot see the difference.

Flippers post on the June 15 WT is amazing they truly believe that the WT and the Organization are the same. I was talking with my strong JW husband last night and the WT is so clear that we have to follow the FDS no matter what. He still cannot see it expect when it comes to their stand on pedophiles then he can.

To me it is all just so unbelievably sad.

    Bonafide,

JWs cannot distinguish between Jehovah and the Watchtower.

While they may not believe in Christendom's trinity, they have their own

Jehovah, Jesus and the Organization - all three are one.

I believe that their considering God and the "Society" as one and the same is literally hardwired into their brains in a manner analogous to riding a bicycle, typing or having an accent when learning another language. It only takes a few years of hearing the phrase "Jehovah's Organization" to get to the point where the mention of one word automatically lights up in the brain the other word making it a composite concept in the persons

You simply, in my opinion, cannot tease apart Jehovah and organization in their minds. You would probably have to be blunt and say "You're not Jehovah" or even blunter still, depending on the circumstances, "You're Organization never was, is not, nor ever shall be Jehovah's."

The beauty is: they know both are not the same because the Society can get it wrong but Jehovah can't but they believe that since Jehovah used the Society (aka The Slave), things can get discombobulated between heaven and earth. So they cut the Society a little slack. Got it??

In my many fights with my ex-wife (before we were ex's) I could never get her past the concept that me not believing in the Wt had nothing to do with god. She never let loose of the wt concept that god=watchtower organization.
