It's AMAZING How JWs Accept Things!

I'm sure you can think of many different examples of how Witnesses simply accept a point of view or a lifestyle and just live with it!

Think of something that all JWs must accept.....no blood. No matter how you scripturally rationalize it, Witnesses do not follow their own interpretation of "abstaining" from blood. Yet they will perform scriptural/mental gymnastics in order to accomodate the Society's ridiculous view. I spoke to one active Witness whose family was ruined by a relative who was a MS. He sexually molested his niece and she took him and the elders to court and won! BUT, no way would she give blood to her family. She works in a medical facility in Boston, is very bright and really had no idea that other components of blood could be accepted by a Witness. She told me "all I know is that I take no blood and that is on all my family's medical records!"

Some people just don't get it.

This cross-references with Bonafide's post that JDubs don't really know their doctrines. Imagine if this woman's family member died because of the "no blood" clause and she found out later that perhaps some blood fractions could have done the trick. I think the WTS only has some policies in place to cover themselves legally and to say, "It's not our fault she died, she could have taken blood fractions." But they don't actively promote their real teachings because if people had to update their teachings in their minds every six month, they may step back and say, "New light again???"

    Just my opinion.

I explained to her about the blood fractions but her response was "all I know..." she was not going to accept blood. Period. She'd die and be responsible for someone else to die because of her willful ignorance. That's what the Organization can do to people. You stop thinking, rationalizing, investigating.

How true!! When the information came out about blood fractions, I tried to talk to my mom about it and what she felt "components" meant. Her response was "It's just so complicated". Hmmmm..... Isn't the truth supposed to be simple and make good sense? I think when this info came out my parents were nodding off. The service meeting is past their bedtime.

The Society purposely makes things confusing. Who the hell can figure their basis for many prophecies being fulfilled thru the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society? CAN a JW vote? According to the WT. the answer is yes. Try voting and see what happens to your ass. As a Witness, try to effectively defend the NWT's rendering of John 1:1. It's impossible.

Yet JWs will accept whatever "Mother" says.

Talking about blood...I remember a convo I had with my still-active brother back last year...he personally felt that it was hypocritical to take blood fractions, since it's verboten for JWs to donate blood - and yet, he couldn't 'join that final mental dot' - i.e. yes, it is hypocritical, so what does THAT make the WTS for telling the sheep that taking fractions is OK (or at most, a 'conscience matter')? The mental gymnastics/rationalisation involved are breathtaking indeed - and incredibly sad...
