Actually, there were only minotaurs back then. They didn't evolve into full-fledged horses until centuries later.

Actually, if the 'Noah' story as told by Israelites had really happened, they would have been similar to the Equus przewalskii Poljakow, although this article http://www.equiworld.net/uk/horsecare/Breeds/sorraia/mongolian.htm indicates that the Poljakow does not genetically match the root source of our modern horses, either...
I've always wondered why some ambitious horse breeder has never bred all the different breeds of horse back together again (would take decades, I know...) to see what they end up with???
