Hmm its a paradox - on the outside they would never have ben my dream blokes - goody two shoes with the side partings and so on.. and it would seem so dull I would have never wanted to live at Bethel - Yawn.

We split up 5 years ago. I was never "spiritual" enough for her because I didn't read the daily text or underline my watchtower.

I just wanted to say that it's not only the sisters who are oohing and aahing at the Bethel heavies - an older elder recently went on a New York trip in which a visit to Bethel figured prominently (I know, because we saw all 800 or so pictures/slideshow!).
In his commentary, he mentioned how blessed and goosebumpy he felt while actually touring the Headquarters. Here he was, at last, actually walking among the faithful and discreet slave class, he didn't know which brothers he passed in the hallways were actually the anointed, but he figured some of them had to be, and what a privilege it was for him to breathe the same air! My gawd! Does it get any more creature worshippy than that??? I have never heard any worldly person talking about breathing the same air as ACDC/Jim Morrison/rockstar of your choice...
Such events and Circut overseer parties (when their leaving the circut) are the only time some congregations have social gatherings. Oh and the ocasional meal after a funeral. The rest of the time your on your own. But don't dare get into any worldy association. Just stay home and have no social life. seek2find

My brother went to bethel in the late 70's. Our small hick hall in Northern WI was so proud you would think he was leaving to be knighted by the Queen. One going away party after another along with presents and endless cards and letters of congratulations. After arriving at bethel, my sweet innocent brother was taken to his first X-rated movie, had a gay roommate and became friends with Ray Franz. He left bethel after only a few months never to set foot inside a KH ever again. He feels extremely lucky to have had such a eye opening experience.
