Why is it that ex jdubs always export what the witchtower says about the trinity and argue against THAT.

Anybody who has read the Trinity brochure must know how it distorts the quotes, often turning them right around. The WT thinks the trinity means a three headed god, or makes up other such nonsense.

Instead of attacking those whose faith leads them to believe in a triune godhead, maybe these people should find out what the REAL teaching on the trinity is rather than tub thumping against what the WTBTS claims these christians believe.

Whatever your opinion, all that really matters is that a Christian calls on the name of Jesus and looks to him for salvation. It is the WT that claims you have to have every doctrine in line with their views or you will die. True christians accept differences of viewpoint on many things, but continue to look to Christ who will ultimately save and correct them.

hamsterbajt, it is not true that Jehovahs Witnesses think that the trinity means a three headed god and they don"t claim that everyone have to be the same like them. They are only average people exactly the same like most of us and that"s all

Probably, to tell you the truth, it is not arguing about the Trinity itself.

I blame "that attitude of not allowing the other belief/doctrine."

I will tell you my belief on the trinity. Jesus was not God himself, nor was Jesus almighty. Rather, he was trying to get people to think on their own despite religious figures that tried to prevent that. To do that, and because his disciples were trained against it, he needed to present himself as God Almighty to give them the tools needed to accomplish that. And, in a sense, Jesus was God because he made his own decisions and executed them without needing others to give him permission to do so. That permanently solved the Jesus is God issue for me.

Now the Holy Spirit. This is God's active force--which Jesus could easily have used as another tool to help people retain independent thinking when things got bad. It could also be the power of making fully integrated decisions using fully integrated thinking, and then executing them without needing external permission. When people start doing that, good things get done (and, in the case of Charles Taze Russell, bad things). All of which incorporates the holy spirit with God-Man, which Jesus was.

No mystical three-part Godhead. No need to separate God and Jesus. No need to take the washtowels and asleeps and use their stock arguments against the Trinity. And no needing to waste one's life learning how God and Jesus can be one and the same being--all it takes is for Jesus to have made his own decisions and acting on them, effectively becoming God-Man, and the problem is solved.

"Anybody who has read the Trinity brochure must know how it distorts the quotes, often turning them right around." The quote thingee is not working at the moment. They do not know the above. They bow to every word of WTS.
