No. I knew very good looking brothers who married plain janes or even homely sisters because they were pioneers or they thought they matched up to Proverbs' Capable Wife.

Not as much from what I've observed, being that there were more ladies to choose from the not so beautiful ones,
there was obvious selecting happening, I can remember a few girls actually leaving the flock just because of this.
And oh man if your a single mother , middle aged with young kids in tow you've really got a problem .

Oh HELL no.
All the congregations I have been in there were nice, fun pretty sisters scrabbling and vying for the bottom-of-the-barrel brothers.
And these guys would strut around KNOWING that all these sisters wanted them just because they were single brothers. Made me sick!!
These guys wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell in the "world".

And all the uncool or ugly chicks just never got married. AND I am happy as hell I was one of those... cause otherwise I'd probably be trapped in some dub marriage... ugh.

Well, in your average congregation there are about the same # of male and female kids, so up til the age of 19 (when they go to bethel, right?) the numbers are even. If a feeewww go to Bethel then there are slightly more bros.

I hope this shows up. I was a single, divorced mom. I looked like this. I was told by one guy who was married, "John thinks you're cute, but he wants an elder's daughter/virgin/tall/tiny waist/big boobs/pretty face. I didn't care what he wanted. He was not attractive to me at all. He was 6'4", red headed, not even average looking, skinny guy with a rod in his spine that made his head turn to the side. It wasn't how he looked that was uninteresting to me. It was his personality, or should I say lack of. I hope he found her: elder's daughter/virgin/tall/tiny waist/big boobs/pretty face. I think he probably bored her to death.
